I swear to god he's about to eat the trophy. He's licking his lips in anticipation of chowing down on some sweet savory silver.
New nose tackle Kris Jenkins looks relatively lean and mean at 359 pounds, and his athleticism remains impressive for a man his size. I still wonder if he'll grown weary of the thankless job that playing the nose is, but his conversion from being a 4-3 defensive tackle looks good so far. He can definitely eat up the double-team block. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/writers/don_banks/08/01/snap.judgments/1.html You Lose.
In other Raider related news: Raiders WR Javon Walker told the Raiders Thursday he intended to retire and offered to return his $11 million signing bonus. Owner Al Davis reportedly persuaded him to remain with the team. Walker has struggled with his performance in camp so far, but we never expected something this drastic. Walker's knee doesn't appear to be getting better, and he obviously has some mental hurdles to clear after a trying offseason. With red flags popping up all over, the troubled receiver should remain on your "do not draft" list for now.
^ He was talked out of it by Al Davis. Always nice to have your prized #1 WR not want to play for your team. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/trainingcamp08/news/story?id=3516068
Wow, you really don't get it... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ted_Washington http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sam_Adams_(football_player)
Ted Washington is the exception that proves the rule. And when is the last time Sam Adams did anything? For the money the Jets gave Jenkins I have to think they're expecting better than a Sam Adams type player, no? Thread officially derailed.
For the money the Raiders are giving Walker, I have to think they are expecting better then a quitter
What we´re expecting is a 360 lbs meatball, that keeps two OL busy. But that you turned this thread from QB-discussion to a NT-discussion says somethig.
Not really. There's no need for me to defend Russell. Jet fan: Russell is a 300 pound slob. Me: No he's not, he's 268 and in great shape according to everyone who has covered training camp. Jet fan: Uh...uh...Russell is a 300 pound slob!
Training camp notebook, Aug. 1 (AP Photo/Paul Sakuma) By Michael Wagaman Senior Writer Posted Aug 1, 2008 Tommy Kelly has added about 30 pounds since last season but his weight isn?t an issue with Raiders head coach Lane Kiffin. ?It's not going to be a number with Tommy,? Kiffin said Friday. ?It's going to be him being in shape to play, so no matter how low that has to go, he needs to get it done. There's a lot great defensive tackles that weighed 330, 340 so we're not going to say he has to be at 310 because we don't want to do that. If we can get him into game shape, playing and not have to come out during drives when he's 330, then that's great. If it's 320, it's 320. If it's 310, it's 310. We'll find that out as the preseason goes and practice continues.?
D-line goes down First, starting nose tackle Gerard Warren pulled up limp with a thigh injury Wednesday. Now backup Terdell Sands is on the day-to-day injury list. Sands had his knee drained Friday and missed training-camp practice in Napa. Raiders coach Lane Kiffin hopes Sands can practice in at least one of two practices today, but isn't sure. Neither injury is considered serious at this point, but having both hurt at the same time provides a scary idea of what the defensive line would look like without them: Josh Shaw and William Joseph. Everyone knows how poorly the interior line has played against the run, and that was with Warren and Sands trotting out there last year. When these two are hurt, their best hope for an improved run defense is for strong safety Gibril Wilson to tackle everyone in sight -- and that's a lot to ask of one player.
And your point is what, it's okay for Jenkins to weigh 360 if Kelly weighs 330? Keep in mind, I'm not the one who called either of these guys 'lean"!
I agree, the Raiders are in trouble if they lose their #2 and #3 DTs. That makes them different somehow? I'm sure the Jets would be in trouble if they lost the two schlubs who play behind Jenkins too.
Yeah, everyone on this board has a "fair and balanced" view of the Jets too, as I mentioned earlier...
Never claimed that. Thanks for playing, though. BTW, both of those articles are from a Raiders website.
So when those Raider sites praise the training camp play of Russell, or McFadden, or Burgess, etc., does that count too? Or are they being "homers" if they report the good stuff? You're funny.
the % doesnt play in your favor. We have 2 RaiderS fans on this site, 1 for sure that we know is retarded. If your not good at math, thats 50%. Good Luck finding 50% of dopes on this board that can rival the homerism of epic proportions that Jeaux displays.
