Do you fly in from Texas every week or are you in the Tri-State area already during football season? That seems pretty hardcore to make that trip for a Jets game every week.
No I rent them at face value. Flying in staying overnite is like a PSL (ugh) out of the question. If they are playing nearby & are worth seeing my son & I would consider going to a out of town game like Houston or Dallas (did not go last year cause they stunk). Maybe if my MD allows I will visit my bro who lives in the bay area & go to the game in SF this year
I finally got my tickets today but with one big difference. They changed my seats without telling me. Now i did request a seat upgrade 2 years ago but shouldnt i have been given a heads up and a chance to decline before they decided to go ahead and change my seats without my notice. So the only question that remains is which one of you newbies got my seats.
I am just curious what exactly are you expecting from the "delay" as you call it? Flat out waiver of the PSL? PSLs at the price scale announced by the NYGs but with like a time payment plan with interest like a C/card which would mean you would still be paying huge money for your seat but just have more time to pay it off? Sock it to us PSLs ala the NYGs way. Any other option you see. I wish to remind you of one thing which you mentioned from the Carton/Mara interview in which you posted that John Mara said that Woody is carrying the EXACT same debt for the stadium as he was so he expected Woody to do exactly what the NYGs have done with the prices. That sounded to me like Mara/Woody had adopted a game plan for what to do before the NYGs made there announcement
I don't really know what I'm expecting from the Jets, Champ. Maybe a "toned down" version of what the Giants are doing. Actually, what Mara said was that he didn't know what the Jets were doing but he knows they will have the same expenses and debt as the Giants, yes. But that doesn't preclude the jets from obtaining some creative financing of their own and declining the NFL's $150,000 loan (with its steep, 5-year payback). I don't think there's anything that prevents the Jets from telling the NFL, "No thanks," we got our money elsewhere at better terms. Are you not at least hopeful that something like that could be worked out, or are you resigned to the same thing the Giants have? I can tell you that there is a ton of money on Wall Street and brokers who do nothing but put huge deals like this together. They get their money from Real Estate Mutual Fund managers, investment trusts, private parties looking to lend and off-shore, foreign money (Arab money, for example) that are chomping at the bit to be part of a project like this (and because the dollar is so weak, it's like investing $.50 on a dollar to them). Woody, thru J&J in particular, must have financial contacts that can swing a deal like this with much more favorable terms than the Giants are getting, especially if Woody goes on as a guarantor or puts J&J up as guarantor. The other thing he could do is just flat out have J&J Corp be the lender... they've got so much cash on the balance sheet it might make sense to do it that way. I guess I'm still hoping something will be announced with less bite to the fans than the Giants' deal. The Giants, coming off the SB win, MAY be able to pull off their numbers, but the Jets are not going to be able to sell that kind of load, IMO.
Got my tickets today. First time. I was on the list 11 years. Sec. 307 row 28. Not bad for the first year. I'm annoyed they're leaving Hofstra. I live in Levittown about 2 miles east and I liked the convenience of watching practice and at least they still had some ties to NY.
Wait, those of us offered upper corner seats for $75 could just call and complain and get lower level seats for what....$5-15 more per seat??? Holy chit!!!
Well logic says that this entire scenerio was pre planned by the owners. Logic also says since they are partners in the stadium one will not make the other look bad by charging less since each halves cost is exactly the same supposely. So I think that the NYJs will charge what the NYGs charged as that was agreed to. Maybe the NYJs will give you some type of extended terms like paying out on a NYJ C/card & they charging you interest which will ONLY increase the PSL hit since you will be paying 19% interest on the money you charge on the NYJ C/card. Woody's track record indicates that he wants money & the more the merrier just look at your tix increases while he has been the owner while putting a lousy product on the field. As for the 150M loan from the NFL he already spent that money so you are way off base with that theory. As for your other scenerio I think if you lean back & think hard you will see how impractical that is. In any case even if that came to fruitation we fans would still have to pay the PSLs so why would Wall Street want to do what you suggested just to please Mr. Billionaire Woody Johnson? There is NO way that us fans are going to be exempted from paying the PSL just no way & I would say at the NYGs pricing no less.
just got mine on friday....a shame I will only see 2 more years....PSL are out of the question for me.....
my dad called them up bc we live in minnesota and we havent got them yet, they said that the tickets actually come from arkansas, so that may explain things a little better
Does anyone happen to know if there's a way to know the seat numbers of specific sections? I'm specifically looking for section 324. My friend is getting our two seats in the next day or so. Last many years we got 4 from this dude, but this year we're just doing 2 and we are trying to remember which one is the aisle seat so we can make sure to request it. I realize this is an oddball question, but I don't know where better to ask... Go Jets!!!
