Let me ask this? If Farve would stay until his contract up how many people would change there minds about picking up Farve?

When was the last time you've seen a team only give the Jets the right to talk trade with a big name guy like this?

Two years out of Favre would be worthwhile. Three years is a slam dunk, plenty of time to draft a new QB and win now.

    terrific news

we may not land him, but it's good to see that we're at least testing the waters

I hope they can get it done!

Well what makes Tampa Bay so much better than us? We have a better O-line, recievers, and running backs.

In fact, we are only a QB away from being contenders

We brought Vinny back at 82 in desperation, Brett Favre can play out his contract until we have another legitimate option. Penny/Clemens are not legitimate options this year or next.

I think everyone knows where Favre wants to go, and it isn't going to happen...

    Talk about a buzz kill.

I heard Mort on ESPNews. He didn't exactly say that, just said he has no interest in talking about it right now. Still, doesn't look good.

I will bet the conversation went like this:

    "Hi Ted, what's shakin'?"

"Brett, the Jets have called us and want to talk to you... Brett...?"

    "Yeah...?"

"They want our permission and I want to know -- "

"Hey, Ted, the Jets?! That's where you want to bury me, eh? No way, man. Tell them no thanks."

Apparently, the NYJs are not good enough for the Legend to take a risk.

As an outsider such as Favre that is looking in between the 2 teams, 1 team went 4-12 last season while the other was a playoff team and won their division.

I dont think TB will return granted but that's what most outsiders look at.

I have to think that Favre has better than a pedestrians understanding of football, the offseason, player movement and personnel.

Hahahaha, that's awesome. Oh well, the rest is elementary. Would have been fun to see but I never truly thought he's want to play for the Jets.

And last week we had no interest in him, either. The Packers hold the trade card. If we make the best offer and the Packers are willing to do it, he'll become interested. Or he won't play in the NFL and we'll be back where we are right now. Noodles and Inexperience Inc.

Boys and Girls .. As much as I want to see the Jets go down in flames this year .. Why would you want him? You'll have him 2 years tops .. if that .. Then you are right back where you started with no QB .. Let's talk $$$$$ .. Where's the cap room ? Pure speculation on my part because I don't know the Jets status, cap wise .. With all the new players brought in, it must be tight .. Also .. When was the last time Favre had to learn a new system? .. Besides that .. Please god .. bring him to the team that plays in Jersey ..
