Great game once again, but Pedro coming out with soreness in his right shoulder can't be good.

Per metsblog, Manuel said he'll be okay and definitely make his next start.

Pedro getting hurt again this season will be as shocking as Alou getting hurt or Church still having post-concussion symptoms. I've already accepted all three won't be in the lineup at the end of the season. Hopefully Omar still has another magic potion that landed Santana up his sleeve to start preparing for this reality.
(Hopefully Diamond Dogs tcb tomorrow afternoon so our night game can be that much more electric.) Pelfrey's earned an electric Shea reception. Save for his walks of course.

While SF and Colorado blow...You can't really just look away from taking 3/4 in Philly, isn't that when the streak started?

3 out of 4 against the Phils, 2 out of 4 against the Cards which also could have easily been 3 out of 4 -- yeah, they look good playing the worst teams in the league. you can't isolate the games that only validate your point and ignore the others that dispute it. that makes you at best, irrational, and worst, a liar. which are you?

The Phils had swept a series against Atlanta immediately before the Mets series and have won 3 out of 5 since then, but I guess that also doesn't count, right?

Good teams beat the bad teams with consistency. The Mets have been known to take 3 out of 4 from a Philly, then blow 4 out of 6 to a SF/COL.
Beating the bad teams now is what makes the difference in the standings at season's end, something the '07 Mets didn't do often enough.

In that case, here's what you will not see tonight from me-

I knew the Mets would win this game.

Pelfrey is our 2nd best starter on our roster, damn he has been a very nice surprise!

We win 9 in a row, tied in the loss column and you can make a good case that most of our starters hasn't pitched well when comparing their careers. Should be a very interesting 2nd half.

I'm honestly blown away by Pelfrey these past few weeks (months now?). He's just proving absolutely everyone wrong. We can only hope he keeps this up. He's definitely the team's #2 to Santana and even Manuel's commenting on the fact that he's essentially leapfrogged a few guys in the rotation.

However, this ASB couldn't have come at a worse time.
