Are you insane? I wouldn't really want to give more than a 3rd. For one year of Favre, you'd give up 2 picks? Favre was a mediocre at best starting QB the previous few seasons before last year.
The people here still love the management. The Packers are a build thru draft and take BPA kind of team. Actually it has been really working out for the Packers. People sure don't like the situation tho. Nobody wanted Brett to retire but now after a few months and hearing all we've heard we just want him to stay retired. It's really kind of sad, but none of the Packer fans I know are really mad at anyone.
Oh man I would be jumping up and down screaming and kicking if GB got Pennington. Then I could watch my favorite player every game of the year. (assuming the 90% chance Rodgers gets hurt comes true)
I'm gunna say the Vikings, Bears, Panthers, Bucs, Ravens, Jets, and Redskins are all contenders to attempt getting Favre. The Packers will never trade him within the division, so that takes out the Vikings and Bears. (now, Panthers, Bucs, Ravens, Jets, Redskins) We don't have the 12 million in cap room to get him (tho we could re-work it) (Panthers, Bucs, Ravens, Redskins) If Brett was traded to the Ravens, I doubt he would want to play because they really suck, plus I don't see the Ravens actually making a bold move for once, especially since they just got Flacco and like Smith. (Panthers, Bucs, Redskins) I think the Skins are really wanting to keep Jason, but they are a gambling team. They're my #3 pick. The Panthers have already had speculation about Favre coming, and I have a weird feeling it may get stronger, tho I don't believe he will actually go here. My 2nd choice. I think he'll go to the Bucs. They need a QB and not really anything else. They were a strong team last year that won the division and it would have to take Gruden off the hot seat. They love getting QBs. It just makes the most sense imo. That being said I'd love him in green.
If what will change? the packer fans being mad?... People in Wisconsin are just trying to move on. I mean if Brett came back to GB and played here, everyone would warmly welcome him but at the same time people have been preparing to move on for years and I think people are just quite frankly sick of waiting for the anticipated post-favre era. Even I don't really want him back in green and gold anymore...especially because I'm going to the game they were supposed to retire his jersey at!
^sick of waiting for the anticipated post-favre era? I will never understand this thought process. You have a legend that is still playing at a very high level on your team and you're sick of waiting for the unknown young kid who hasn't played a complete game yet?
umm dont mean to interrupt the thread, but the gaydar went haywire after you posted this..just wanted to let you know....as you were gentlemen
 Yes, If only Kevin Keegan was the Jets GM, I'm sure he would convince Favre to join the party  However, I too would love it, Favre Is one of my most respected sporting stars if you will and I could think of nothing better...I imagine many clubs will be reluctant due to rebuilding, looking for youth etc...he's still a fantastic player and personality though. I think we could well become a serious contender in the division, nay the league if this happened but...can't see it happening unfortunately
I think he goes full circle and ends up with the Falcons giving Ryan a chance to get schooled by someone other than Harrington.
I would rather not win a superbowl with someone elses legendary QB. I know that sounds ridiculous, but I would rather the Jets win it with someone else at QB.
Speculation, speculation. Good grief, let TC begin soon. Favre was a great player. Was. I feel sickened for the cheeseheads who imortalise this guy. It was time to move on and he has shown no class with this nonsense. This is the last thing thing the Jets need now. Speculation about Favre coming to New York. All you people clammering for Favre are saying loud and clear you have no faith in Clemens, I thought he was going to be the guy this year. And 2 short seasons ago the last time we played the Pack Chad handed Favre his ass. Remember, the guy coming back of a second shoulder op. The guy who who gets berated everyday on this board. The guy who believes he has a shot at leading this team but might be backup. Not a cheap from him. He just gets on with it. That is class.
lol notice how our recievers initially were slow to react to Clemens balls because they have much more zip than pennys? lol our recievers would feel like theyre on another planet with favre throwing. me, in the big picture we dont need him but if they wanna sell tickets and make a playoff run go ahead. it would be fun to watch. although i like clemens and think penny is done thats my perspective on the qb situation. with favre's amazing td's followed by timely INT's itd really be JETS football.
So yer saying put him on the Rams or Falcons and they automatically can compete for a super bowl? JACKASS
From reading your post, I don't think you read this thread before you responded. So some of my response will be repetitive to people that have. Favre was a top 5 QB last season. He still is a great player. McCarthy worked with him to refine his game, harness his skills, and to stop making all the stupid decisions he had been making for the previous few years. So long as he doesn't get amnesia and forget what he learned the past 2 years I don't see any reason why he wouldn't continue to play at a very high level. How is Favre showing no class? He was rushed into a decision in March, and changed his mind. The Packers FO don't want to bring him back at this point, so he's asking for his release. What is so classless about that? Don't compare Pennington to Favre because it's a complete joke. Penny couldn't hold Favre's jock. If you believe Penny would give us a better chance to win a superbowl than Favre, I think you may be a bit loony. Penny is a classy guy, I'll give that to him - but that isn't going to win us any games. My opinion is that with Favre this team could potentially compete for a superbowl. That's the only reason I need to sign him. If you disagree with the thought that we could win a SB with him than I can understand not wanting him. If you haven't read the whole thread, I recommend that you do. There are some very good points made.
