Hmmmm....here Brett, heres 25 million to hang out with yer family on the beach, dont worry bout training camp, we have no QB's to test you anyway. Green Bay to Miami? duh, what a way to start retirement...nice weather, no pressure.

He's not going to Miami. The team is awful. The offensive line is ho-hum at best.
He's going to go to a team that he feels has a chance to compete for the Super Bowl this season.

Guys like Brett Favre dont go to Miami to kick start their retirement. Favre wants to compete. He wouldnt be back just for the money, and to play in a no pressure situation.

Thought the same thing, til I heard the "desire" complaint he had a few months ago steming back 3 years.

Carolina has a QB coming off a major injury. They think they can compete for a Super Bowl title. If Delhomme is shaky in camp...

A week ago, I thought Washington would make some sense for Brett Favre. Today I am hearing that Washington is indeed a possible landing spot.

Minnesota looks to be very solid except at the QB position. Now, I like Tarvaris Jackson and think he can be very good. That said, Jackson or Favre in 2008? That's a no-brainer.

Chicago. Do I really need to explain how Favre would be an upgrade? I expect the Bears to be back. The defense is going to be very good again. Benson is addition by subtraction. The WRs are not as bad as everybody thinks they are.

There's no way Favre plays for another NFC team. I am POSITIVE that would be in the terms of the release. That leaves the Jets and Ravens.

I don't know that the Packers could legally dictate where Favre signs.

The Bills? Chiefs? Lions? Vikings? Panthers? Cardinals? Dolphins? Jets? I think the Jets make the most sense, since we're not committed to a quarterback and we can contend with one. Do we have the cap space? Does anyone know the cap space of other teams?

I know. I'm just trying to list all the teams that need a quarterback. Buffalo could be a darkhorse. Edwards and Losman are alright and both are young, but they think they can compete, and Favre would be a huge upgrade. Buffalo is a smaller city, like Green Bay, and it makes some sense.

Maybe Bubba Franks can be the catalyst...and give Favre a call to endorse the team. That Franks signing is looking pretty good right now.

I was just watching the NFL Network..and Michael Lombardi was on via satellite..he's predicting that if Favre gets his outright release...that Minny and Tampa are the likely landing spots. Tampa??? don't they have like 12 Qb's already on their current roster??

He's saying Minny and Tampa...because of the offenses they run are similar to GB's.

Don't want him.... the guy is not Brett Favre of 10 years ago. He throws way too many picks. The only positive I see is that it keeps all the so called experts from ripping the Jets as they get on thier knees for the most overrated selfish player in the history of the game.

I would LOVE the Jets to have Favre as our starting QB in 2008, I would love it!

Chad Pennington=Done because of previous injuries.

I really love the potential and talent that Kellen has but I feel another year watching and taking notes on the sidelines, from a HOF QB in Favre can do wonders for this kid.

With Favre, this Jets team would have one of the most explosive O's in the game today. He's also the perfect QB for this Jets O-Line for the simple fact he drops back, looks through his reads, and get the ball out as fast as any other QB in the game.

    Ferguson @ LT
    Faneca @ LG
    Mangold @ Center
Moore @ RG (Was the starting RG when Curtis Martin rushed the ball)
    Woody @ RT

    Plus... We would also see...

Coles become a top 5-10 WR, Favre is the PERFECT type of QB for Coles, a QB who can stretch the field and Coles could have his best season ever.

Cotchery can get open, make the tough catch and RAC with the best of em.

Chris Baker Wow, I think he could turn into one of the best TE's in the game today because Favre LOVES the tough TE's.

    Bubba Franks
Who knows how to use Bubba better than Favre?

Dustin Keller He could learn a lot from watching Baker and Franks work with a veteran QB

And the RUN GAME!!!!, Wow! Thomas Jones and Leon Washington could lead this team DEEP into the playoffs with Favre as the QB. With this O-Line and B.Favre, our Running game could be explosive!

I can go on and on... I would LOVE for this JEts team to have Favre! Will it happen? Maybe not, but I think this would be the perfect team for Favre.

Their running attack should be even better this season. They replaced Tony Richardson with Thomas Tapeh. Jeff Dugan will see plenty of time at FB, too.

By the way, if the Packers do trade him, we do have extra picks next season...

im not a huge favre fan but it would be a great signing if it could happen.

as jetfanmack said i would have to wonder about the cap, can it even happen? pennington would be as good as gone but wouldnt he kill us this year against the cap if cut? pretty sure the money against him would make it almost impossible to sign this guy.

then there are the cap issues that the jets would face on the out side of favre.. cause he may be around for 1 maybe 2 years. how do you sign him and stay under the cap now while not screwing the cap later? hell they could go ahead and sign him for 10 years and give him a huge bonus but that would be brought forward next year or at the latest the year after.

i dont know its very tempting and nice to think about but i dont know if the money logistics could even work.

hopefully someone who knows alot more than me about the cap can shed some light on how this whole thing could happen.

I'd rather sign him as a FA, than deal picks for him.

Just sign him a two year deal plus an option. Trade Pennington somewhere...maybe Tampa...Gruden likes collecting QB's as a hobby.
