I could totally see this exploding soon though. Favre gets released, and he has to go to the AFC or at least out of the NFC North. New York is a big market, and it offers him a clear opportunity to start right away, and all it will cost is money.

Yeah, the Jets would get him out of the NFC altogether. Certainly they'd have no objection over that.

Favres legacy is what it is. Anything he does this season (football wise) would not effect that in any way, unless of course he were to win another superbowl. The way I see it, the only thing he can do to his legacy at this point is improve it.

People aren't going to look at his career as a whole and say - but his last season he sucked, they're going to see it as they would if he did or did not play this season.

I agree. In fact, a phone call from Tannenbaum might have been the spark behind the letter he just sent.

Oh.... the speculation is half the fun!

Last season he played much less like a gunslinger than he had his whole career. The coaches worked with him to harness his skills a little and got him to take fewer stupid chances. It worked and he had a fantastic season with relatively few INT's.

Madden 09 will be pretty odd now. Favre on the cover in a Packers jersey playing for another team. haha.

Very true, as is the case with Namath. In fact, there are many football fans who don't even remember Namath played for the Rams after he left NY.

His reputation and legacy was built in NY and remains in NY.

Is it too late to change it to his new team?

I don't see letting Brett go or trading him. It pains me to even think about it, however I won't be mad if we get him  If anyone else does I'll be pissed.

Oh snap, nevermind I don't want him. He'll just get injured. He is so fucked.

I suppose that's true. It's interesting to wonder how he'd do behind the O-line we've put together now and the possible running game.

I'd love to go to TC and watch him hooking up with Cotchery, Coles and Stuckey. Or a quick dump off to Leon, who takes it to the house. Man... the possibilities have me salivating.

I was just thinking, lets move on and not get excited for the possibilities. We are the Jets. It will not happen.

Our team already is a playoff contender. Favre is a no brainer, much better then Penny and Clemens. He could also teach Clemens a thing or two hopefully. We would have to unload Penny for a mid rounder though. I wouldnt mind this move. We likely would be a very good team.

    % chance it happens : 2%
