4100 + yards, 28 TD's vs 15 picks and making the playoffs is hardly washed up and far better then anything we've seen from a Jets QB in a long time. We'd be fools not to take him, dump Chad, and Let KC/Ainge back him up for a year or two.

Well, Ronnie Lott was a Jet for a little bit, maybe Favre can be too?

The one puzzling thing about Favre right now is this on-again off-again thing with his retirement. Christ, wasn't that him on the microphone just months ago, sobbing and slobbering all over the podium?

There's got to be a slight concern over his mental stability and state of mind at this point. He's been changing his mind back and forth on this for quite some time now.

The man still had it last year, so will still be THE man this year. Just highlights how little faith the FO/CS have in our QBs though

    He is a real jackass.

Seriously. He went from being the most respected player in the league to one of the most hated. If he ends up with the Vikings or Bears, he'll be spiting in the face of all his Green Bay fans.

Of course, the below video was the solution to our QB problems. I'd have given my left nut to be able to jockey into position to take this guy somewhere in the 1st Round. 6'-6" and 236 lbs. It's Vinnie Testaverde incarnate:

There's something kinda sad about a possibly washed-up, once great QB who's best known for one team going to another team... another division even.

Reminds me of Joe Namath going to the LA Rams. It just wasn't the same... no way. In fact, you'd watch the Rams game and he'd be wearing the blue and gold and you'd go... WTF... is this for real? Totally sereal.

I don't care about the hoopla, hype or whatever. Just make it happen...bring Favre in.

I want the Jets to contend!!!

It'd be like Dan Marino going to the Browns. WTF? Isn't he supposed to be wearing torquiose and orange?

That's basically where I am sitting. Not that I want all of the drama and annoying every offseason that comes with Favre, but when your one true glaring weakness is at the QB spot, and it's possible to trade for a vet HOFer like BF, I'm not sure I can argue against it.

And just think... somewhere John Madden will be beating off to Jets highlights.

He didn't look washed up to me last season. I'm not sure where this idea comes from.

If you asked me any of the previous few seasons until last year, I would have said he was washed up. Ask me today, and I gotta say, Favre might turn this team into immediate contenders in the AFC while giving an excuse to develop Clemens another year and have him learn from a god.

We wouldn't have to trade anything to get him. He's asking for his release.

Anyone just watch The Forum on Jim Rome? The guy from the Washington Post was an idiot. He said "Favre shouldn't play anywhere else. It is rare for players to play in one jersey their whole career and Favre is special. Put him on a list with Aikman, Elway, and Young." Only problem is Favre was a Falcon and Young was a Buccanear. I hate reporters who don't know what they are talking about.

The other reporter was dumb too. He said the Packers should call his bluff about a release and make him play for them. Another dumb comment because Favre WANTS to play for them, they said no, then asked for his release. Who are these people? Damn.

That's why I said POSSIBLY washed up. As you and Jetfanmack point out, last season he lit it up. But go back a few seasons and he played some terrible, horrible games, so much so that many of his own GB fans were writing him off.

It's almost like, the closer he got to actually thinking he was going to retire, he wanted to just let it rip and it worked. He's always been the gunslinger, that's the one thing that everybody loves about the guy.

Now, if he were to come to the Jets, would he exhibit that same emotional fire in the belly that he had playing at Lambeau in front of his GB fans for what might have been his "last game" in front of them?

If we could pick him up reasonably, I think it's at least worth the shot to find out.

I could see Green Bay granting his release, but asking him that if they do, for him not to go to rivals Chicago, Minnesota, or Tampa Bay, which would leave basically the Ravens and the Jets.
