I just cant see him going to a team in the NFC North whether it be the Vikings or the Bears. And all of the teams in the NFC are pretty much set at qb.
Who is the best team in the AFC who doesnt have a clear cut #1 qb hmmm...
Im just saying Favre, Jets it makes sense.

sign his old ass immediately and trade penny to the bears or vikings for a pick.

Favre retiring as a Jet. Hmmm... I'm not totally against it, but I'm not exactly for it either.

Honestly... I hate to get caught up in this kind of hype....

But looking at all the money we spent improving the team this offseason (not all on young guys), the fact that our season is going to live or die with our QB, and the fact that Favre may have never had a receiving duo like Coles/Cotchery in his career, I can't help but be hopeful that maybe, somehow, this happens...

I mean, if Mangini/Tannenbaum want to put together a very good season to erase the memory of last year's 4-12, this move makes a lot of sense...

The Bears and Vikings need somebody to wave towels?

That would be the only reason they'd trade us a pick for him.

Though he has a terrible arm, Penny would be a perfect fit on the Vikings. They play in a dome, have an amazing o-line and running game to take most the pressure off him, and really just need someone to manage the offense while the running game does most the work. With Tavaras Jackson they'd be lucky to make it out of the 1st round of the playoffs, but with Penny, they'd be the NFC favorite.

I honestly don't know if this would be good if the JETS got him or bad? Obviously there is no way I'd expect him to start on such short notice unless Chad is traded away. And how long would he be willing to sit on the side. An injury would do but too much of this sounds like a circus. Is this what the JETS need? The only way this happens is if Chad is traded and Kellen gets a mentor that can show him how to use a gun, period.

We're certainly vulnerable at the QB position. There's still a lot that's unknown in Clemens and far too much that we already know about Pennington's play.

My worst fear is that we've put together enough talent to make a serious playoff run, only to see it stall for lack of the right QB and/or backup should Clemens go down.

True. It's Hype. But if he did come to The Jets, then ESPN would finally have to start talking about us.

You do realize this makes no sense right? You're against it, and also not for it?

Unless you meant it to be wrong, in which case, disregard.

They signed Bernard Berrian though, who is the complete antithesis of the type of receiver Chad throws to. I don't think we'll get anything for him, since everyone knows we don't need or want him (this is once Favre is signed, theoretically).

I'm totally torn on this one...We're really in uncharted territory here, I don't know.

I don't often talk love for players outside of the Jets, but Favre is the exception, Ronnie Lott being the other for me.
I would love it! Love it! If he came to us. He might even teach thicket how to be a QB.

Have to agree completely. Farve is a very short term answer, but may be just what we need. I hate to get excited about something like this that is unlikely to happen, but in the offseason its hard not to.

I am firmly in the "Favre is completely washed up" category.

I'd prefer we go forward with Clemens.
