These clowns spout off about guys who haven't even played a down in the NFL yet. Another worthless offseason article.

Just looking at the first round on paper I'd say Gholston has the biggest bust potential as well, for all the reasons this guy mentioned.

It's funny how everyone is calling this guy names and saying it's worthless, but if he had written about how great he would be everyone would be calling it a great article or "a good read". I just find it amusing.

I said that too in 2006. Lendale was going to be a more complete back than Bush was and its been proven. As long as White stays in shape and motivated he'll be fine.

Well I don't know about everyone else but if he said this guy was gonna be a superstar I would definitely state some reservations about crowning this kid just yet. I know the dude is is just stating his opinion but he's not saying anything new that hadn't been said at the draft referencing "The Ghoul". There was/still a definite question about his motor but if I may, his reward factor is huge.

I think the article's timing is good being on the brink of training camps opening for those who didn't follow the draft. But, I think if you were to put his opinion next to any of the write ups before the draft it would be close to identical as you could get and I think this is where the ridicule for writing it comes in. It's about the same as bumping a very old thread. Calling him names? That might be a bit over the top.

well he hasn't played football and i saw he did a pretty horrible job cutting his lawn so ya, i'd say he's a bust.

Interesting he had the foresight to predict Shawne Merriman, a workout warrior to boom. If Edholm were to follow this philosophy, the "bust" pick of Gholston is contradictory.

This guy is spot on if you ask me. Gholston *might* be good when I see him be good.

All the guy did at OSU was stand around until the QB ran into his steroid pumped body or tripped in his general direction. Theres tons of analysts who agree with this.

I bet you our 14-18 coaching staff (4-12 in their most recent season) simply asked him to flex for them and in their dumbassedness decided he'd be a great player on that. What they failed to take into account is that thats pretty much all Gholston did at OSU.

a little sensitive in this thread...

i hope he proves all the naysayers wrong. personally, I don't see much bust potential in him. he didn't chase down tosses to the opposite side that much, but he really does high tail after the qb every down he has a chance. besides, if mangini had all the members of the 4-12 squad playing hard, he can probably find some way to motivate our number one pick.

if i had to pick one guy to be a bust out of the top 31, I would go with Matt Ryan. it's not a very creative pick but he's in a bad situation offensively in atlanta and didn't put up that great of numbers, throwing a lot of INTs in a down year in the acc. the only thing i remember him for is his comeback vs. VT, which was a poopy game for me. any other draft and he would havent have gone near that high, i foresee another cycle of bottom feeding for the falcons. just my opinion

wow people on here talked about how great or bad they thought that all of our picks would be for weeks after the draft, but this guy is an asshole. NONE of us knows what will happen, yet all of us have an opinion about it. he tells you what he is doing and that is GIVING HIS OPINION. the only difference between the hundreds of people who chimed in about all our picks this year and him is that he is getting paid for it.

so shame on everyone talking shit cause they dont like what he said.

Look, man, there's a lot of surfers out there that love you when you win and look to shoot you down with a double-ought buckshot weapon when you lose.

By and large, fans hate it that they can't do anything about the outcome and so they own victory and defeat just stays an orphan.

I have a lot of sympathy for the "For" that becomes an "Against" when the defeats pile up intolerably.

You expect your favorite players to make the critical difference when the game's on the line -- especially that QB -- and when the gun sounds on a defeat you feel absolutely betrayed by the guy you expected to ...whatever.

Still, being a fan of a perennial loser franchise, the NYJs, as I have been lo these >>> years... well, I have to look at why this crap is happening.

Not statistics over the past 40 years -- for me, that's crap -- too many FOs, too many CS, too many rosters.

This roster, this CS, this FO -- this time: what are their issues and what are they doing about it?

Joe Bigningo, of WFAN overnight fame, is Mr. Forest never mind the effing trees. Ritually, he picks the NYJs scab off, every morning of his life.

Okay, you can do that, you can carry the Sysiphus rock with you wherever you meander. But, what about these guys, what about today, what about this season?

My friend, Nick, has finally recovered from his NYG nightmare. He's with the program:
Eli has a new lease on life in his long-time fan's eyes, and this team can achieve when you can't believe it. That's something about the NYGs he can no longer deny.

A new truism about his team.

These NYJ guys believe they can win this year -- do you? Can you allow them the possibility of shocking the world? If the effing G's can do it, why not the effing J's...?

You know, the only way to the SB is that 53 guys won't be denied from this day (beginning of the OTAs) forward.

It doesn't matter what we are afraid might happen -- if these guys ignore reality and inspire themselves, and drink the CS Koolaid and throw their hearts and souls into it.

I mean -- why are we watching football, and talking about it so damned much, huh?

The NYJs are a shot in the dark, just like the NYG's last year -- another Mr. 10-6, who just wouldn't go away.

These guys would quit last year in spite of having one leg broken and one hand tied behind them -- and everybody on the field knew it. The NYJs pissed off every single opponent they played last year -- because they refused to give up and made those assholes play every last minute to collect their effing W.

What happens if these guys refuse to quit this year until they beat the asses of enough opponents to get at that Lombardi at the end of the game? Why not us? Why not this time?

That's what I get to thinking each year that I really believe, at this time of the offseason, the team has yet to give up.

Yep, Joe Thomas was a bust last year. Great call there. The Jets should fire Tannenbaum, hire this guy "Erich Edholm" ...

I never understood this - He is criticized for playing his best ball against his best opponents. Isn't it supposed to be the other way around?

OH NOES, HE DISAPPEARED AGAINST #284 RANKED BUMBLEFUCK STATE! QUICK, FORGET THE 3 SACKS AGAINST THE #2 TEAM IN THE COUNTRY!

I mean, really. This is grasping for straws in the worst way.
