He didn't agree with a called strike, the ump went out, took his mask off and stood on the plate basically baiting him. Manuel came out to defend Beltran, was thrown out, then Beltran started arguing and got thrown out. The ump was basically to blame for the whole thing, there was no need to step out onto home plate and then he bumped Manuel before throwing him out.

On back-to-back nights the Mets have given up a grand slam to an AL pitcher and been shut down by a pitcher who literally does not have an ulnar collateral ligament in his elbow. Never a dull moment.
PS even catching my first ever foul ball tonight could not salvage this from being one of my worst experiences at Shea ever. I want to go back tomorrow, buy a single seat downstairs just so I can berate that cockface who umped home plate, get tossed in the first inning, and be home in time for supper.
I just saw highlights with Beltran addressing the media saying he's never been so angry as a player in his whole life. And I believe him! I've never heard him speak more perfect English in my life. (Of course when the anger subsides, we'll get that horrible Spanglish)
