You won't regret it. The beginning felt a bit slow to me, but it picks up pretty quickly, and gets really good once you're drawn in.
I was in the book store today and picked up Darth Bane too. I like how he originated the Sith Lord Master and Sith Apprentice.
I gotta pick up the Darth Bane books at some point as well. Alio, is someone from Knights of the Old Republic really in one of them? I'm actually replaying the game through for the second time; I played it through on the light side a few years ago and never finished my dark side playthrough so I'm starting that over because it's just so different. I forgot how awesome this game was. Anyway I'll second whoever said Shadows of the Empire, that was always my favorite Star Wars book. The X-wing books are very good too. And for anyone who hasn't played it, go pick up Knights of the Old Republic for PC or X-Box. I swear it's more loyal to the original trilogy than the prequels and for an RPG the action's nice and fast-paced and the story's great. I'm not much of a gamer anymore, but from experience I can say that if you're going to play one Star Wars game play this one.
Revan and Malak are both mentioned. I can't remember if the world eating one is or not as well. (I don't remember that one's name. The one with the white mask from the second KotR game.) **EDIT: I think the name is Darth Nihilus, or something like that. Mobius, unfortunately, none of them play a role in the book, but mention is made of their contributions to the Sith legacy. Like I said, it's just a neat little bonus for fans of the game when they come across it in the story. Trust me, you'll enjoy Darth Bane, especially if you're playing through on the dark side path. I have to get back to doing that. I finished it on the light side, but never got around to the dark. I'm actually playing Mass Effect right now, which is a pretty cool RPG game if you're a Star Wars fan. From the same creators (BioWare) as KotR1. Though obviously not Star Wars, it's clearly influenced by KotR1, with a better combat system.
started reading Darth Bane yesterday on the way home from work.now im up to chapter 6 when Des just left Apatros. i like it very much
Probably like 4 years ago. I can't remember that time too well, I was living in a cloud of ganja smoke.

I'm gonna be back East in August but I'm probably not gonna be home for any games this year unfortunately. Timing this year with my job sucks.
I'm actually getting there the day after the at Cleveland game and leaving 2 days before the Washington game. I just realized that. I was hoping to at least catch one of the games on the local broadcast.
