Lot of great players have retired this year, so i wonder, who won?t get in first time?

Did i miss anybody? I?m not sure about Alstott, but afaik he didn?t retire, yet, right?

Off that list Strahan & Young would be the odd men out though. I'm not sure Bryant Young is a hOFer at all but Strahan will get in just most likely not on the first try.

Strahan should be a first ballot HOF'er. I agree about Bryant.

Young is an obvious. My other vote is for Sapp - tough argument putting him in in 5yrs, ahead of the all-time sack leader.

Strahan isn't the all time sack leader, he's 5th all-time. he's the bogus single season sack leader w/ that sham of a sack on favre. He had a lesser career than Richard Dent who has just 4 less sacks than Strahan and also has a SB MVP and Dent is not in. Chris Doleman has more sacks and isn't in. Strahan is more popular in the media and that may be enough but I don't think he should go in 1st ballot and certainly not before Dent or Doleman who have been retired for a while now.

Favre is a given. Between Allen, Odgen and Strahan maybe one of them goes first ballot too - I'd say Allen is the most likely of the 3. I f'd up my voting too.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame is by far the hardest to get into. I think there are people on that list who won't get in for years, let alone on the first ballot. Favre is a lock if he stays retired, and I think Ogden has a great chance on the first year. Other than them, it wouldn't surprise me if none of them get in on their first try, or a while after that either.

Larry Allen was the best Offensive Lineman for about a decade. He should definitely go in first ballot. Even before Ogden.

i picked young, as much as i hate giant players, i have to say that strahan, unlike dent and doleman was much better against the run

Bryant Young should not even be on the poll so I won't pick him. I will say Sapp. He can wait a few extra years to enter the HOF.

Favre, Allen and Ogden are going in first ballot. Strahan is 80/20 to go in first ballot. The other guys are going to wait a year or four.

He was the active leader so I can see where the confusion might have been.

Alstott retired prior to last season.

Favre is automatic, and Allen should be a lock. I'm not convinced Seau won't play again this year, my gut instinct tells me he'll try for a ring one more time. Strahan will get in too, helped by making himself accessible to the media for a long time. That would leave Ogden and Sapp getting in and Young has to wait. If Seau stays retired then he gets in. That leaves a toss up between Ogden and Sapp, I say Ogden deserves it but Sapp gets to go in with his buddy Favre.
