NOw how many wins, must he get to this year, to keep his job for 2009. I say at least 7 wins. With this year schedule, and all the money Jets FO have spent in the offseason. How can they stand for anything less. If Mangini Fired. Would little shotenheimer or Bill Callahan be the favorites to suceed him.
From what Woody said he was pretty much accepting any record, but as a practical matter with the FA and other moves, ease of schedule, a minimum of 7 would seem to be barely acceptable. But of course if Clemens cannot win the job, and Chad plays like he did last year, is that more Mangini's fault than Tanny's? The failure to get an upgrade at Qb should be laid on the FO, not the HC.
I just don't understand this constant fascination for a different NFL team. Honestly, I can't imagine why I would want to spend so much time at a fansite devoted to a team other than the one I follow. Do you visit other teams' sites as well or is it just the Jets?
It's what trolls do. Seriously, do you honestly think someone could legitimately be as idiotic as this guy is? He's either a troll or Al Davis.
If your QB lined his fat ass up as a lineman, would anyone notice? Would his passer rating improve? Would the Raiders be improving thier record to at least 20 wins in the past six seasons? ...and would anyone on this board give a shit about it? Those are important questions.
Who cares why he posts on another team's message board? Maybe he likes the message board? I will go ahead and say anything at or below 4 wins would possibly get him fired... If we win four games next season...heads will roll.
Mangini needs as many wins as RaiderJoe needs to get roundhouse kicked in the face for being an annoying piece of shit.
Thats what i was thinking. Agree with the 4 wins, i expect there to be many more, with all things considered however a failure to win at least 4 will put him in the firing line.
It's funny that when Joe actually starts a thread about the Jets people drag the Raiders into it and bad mouth them: precisely the same thing Joe gets accused of doing about the Jets in negative Raider threads. Anyway, I'll say .500 and above and Mangini's fine. Below .500 and I think the Jets would be fools to not at least consider a change.
I believe if the Jets end up with 4 wins and there's no significant injuries , then Mangini will be shown the door. If the Jets are ravaged with injuries, then Mangini gets the Mulligan.
I think only 1 person may have made a comment about the Raiders...everyone else is pretty much answering the question and/or commenting how idiotic Joe is...
Riadeers in 2008 not fast enougf for NFL sized players. Darren McFadden 6'2" 210 is unproven and in not evrty down runnigback. Ken STabbler the snake 3 DUIS and too old to make the team. Al DAvis not smart and is runnig out of pancakes. Wants Raiderrs in loS angelas cuz oakland smells like dog chud. fans not gud there they stab charge fans 6'5" 235punds 4.5 40 for being there. 2008 raiderZ reCORD 1-18, 4 STABBINGS 2 DUIs and 300 pound QB on a pear tree.
While I can't see the Jets coming close to losing like they did a year ago anything above 4 wins and he maintains his position. There is too much potential expected in the coming years to have a kneejerk reaction like that ruin it. I think Johnson will show patience.
Well, first you have to be able to imagine what it would be like to be a Raiders fan. If you can successfully manage to do that without throwing yourself in front of a bus, the fascination should become clear to you. Raiders fans are kind of like homeless people who actually own their own homes but are so deeply ashamed of their homes that they hang out in front of other peoples' homes. That way, they can spend time criticizing the homes of others which sounds totally ridiculous (it is) but it really makes them feel better because it completely distracts them from thinking about their abortion of an NFL team.
The question is moot. We're going 11-5, including two wins over the Patriots, while seizing the AFC East and eliminating the PATS from as much as a wild card birth. At the end of this final Patriots game, Mangini is seen running after Bill Belichick with his hand extended while Belichick storms off the field, fuming in total disgust.
I saw this thread on the front page, and immediately knew that Jeaux started it. No surprise here... to answer your question: 1
