I live in Philly now and I got pretty wasted last night and ended up betting my friends a total of 200 bucks that the Jets will have a better regular season record than the Eagles next year. It was probably not the best bet to make but I think it is possible. What do you guys think?
I love the Jets....but you bet against a team that has an elite QB (when he's healthy), a game-changing probowl HB, a stout Defense, and plays in the NFC. I would have to say "a fool and his money are soon parted"....sorry dude.
They have to play the Giants twice and the Cowboys twice so that is really your best chance. McNabb hasn't looked good for a few years and if he isn't good I bet we end up with a better record than them. However, I don't see it happening.
good bet.. cmon now.. have faith.. if u lose, may it be the worst mistakeof ur life.. if u win.. then ur up money..
It's not a terrible bet. The Eagles do have to play a SB champ Giants team, a talented Coyboys team, and a fairly good Redskins team 2 times apiece over the course of the season. If McNabb goes down again I think you'll end up okay.
hahahaha wow i made a really similar bet griff. my friend is a giants fan so i bet him that we would have a better record than them next year. my thoughts were that we have a much easier schedule, because we're not in the NFC east, and that eli is really inconsistent and would throw some games away. plus everyone is gonna be gunning for them, since they just won the superbowl. you know how that puts fire into everyone's game. however, the same arguments can be made against us, we play the pats twice, the bills got a helluva lot better and they swept us last year, and we have pennington and clemens. w/e, i have faith in mangini, we're gonna have a '06-type season. do you think we can beat the eagles or giants records? we will probably beat one of theirs, seeing as theyre in the same division, and if we dont, we suck.
i could see a really down to the wire result on this bet. jets made a lot of big moves and they definately have an easier schedule. and yeah, they play in the NFC, but its the NFC East
The Eagles?! Who's that? Heck yeah, the Jets are gonna have a better record. We are the true green machine.
When you really think about, what could be worse than 18-1 ??? If that happened to the Jets, They'd have to lock me up
