Anyone else pretty excited about this guy? I feel like he'll emerge as the #3 receiver. I kind of have the same vibes about him as I did with Cotchery going into 2006- Cotch always had potential and was impressing a lot of people in practice. If Stuckey has a great training camp, I'll be REAL pumped.

Me too. I saw this thread title and got worried he was hurt again.

I was impressed with him from the first workout I saw of him at TC... I think I was there on the 2nd day TC was open.

From then on, I kept an eye on him when I went to several more camps. He has great hands and is deceptively fast from a standing start. Has pretty good moves after the catch. I'd almost like to compare him to Santana Moss, but more of a north-south guy than Moss was.

As I said in the other thread, he and Clemens established some pretty good chemistry right before he went down... didn't seem to have too much trouble with the amount of heat that Clemens puts on some of his short passes either, which is sometimes a problem for a strong-armed, nervous rookie QB just starting out (firing the ball point-blank in someone's face).

I was extremely disappointed with his injury. Let's hope he's not "injury prone" as some have predicted and that he stays healthy going into September. We need him (Clemens needs him).

I will feel a lot better about him once he shows he can stay healthy. He was plagued by injuries throughout college and has been out for a while. Although, it seems that he is studying hard and has showcased some skills.

Hopefully he'll pan out (and not get hurt).

I like the fact that he can stretch the field. I am really looking forward to seeing what he can do. I really like our 5 WRs.

It has been my prediction the last month or so that if Stuckey stays healthy he will be our #3 reciever this season. His hands are amazing and Smith can hardly catch a cold at this point....

I agree... Smith needs to step up this year and show us at least ONE THING that he does extremely well.

This business of being a "jack-off all trades and master-bater of none" bullshit is getting old. There are just so many trick plays the opposition is going to fall for. DEFs need to know that when Smith's in the game, he's a legitimate threat and not just in there for another bullshit "trick play," otherwise we'll get smothered every time (or worse.. turn the ball over).

The trick bullshit only works when you have guys in there that are legitimate conventional threats 99% of the time. So far, he hasn't shown that he's all that good at any one of the 1856 things we have him doing.

^ Great special teams player though. As long as he keeps making big contributions in that department he'll be allowed to continue to develop as a WR. Hopefully he "gets it" sooner than later.

I have always been excited about Stuckey because when he is healthy he is good. He had a rgeat Junior year before he got hurt and mostly it has been bad luck since then. He is fast and has good hands and I would love to see him as our #3. Also I want to keep an eye on Clowney who I also think my be a sleeper.

I agree on STs he's been good, but he's had adequate time now to show NFL-caliber talent in ANY ONE other area he's involved in and so far, I'm not seeing it.

I'm willing to give him this year to step up... we at least owe him that because he's a well-rounded, talented, athletic football guy. But in my mind, STs alone shouldn't earn him a roster spot if he doesn't show us something this year in another area, IMO.

He red-shirted at QB all last TC and Preseason and didn't show much at all. At WR he really showed little also. I think this is one of Mangini's "experiments" that will have a short shelf life if Smith doesn't step up dramatically in some area this year.

Stuckey is definitely on my short list of low round picks to really watch. He's really athletic and quick, and he's got excellent potential as a slot receiver.

Stuckey is intriguing because he is going to help the jets in one area that was seriously lacking last season....Speed.

Im liking the news thats coming out of these training camp articles. It seems the recievers we have on our roster are stepping it up this year. The younger names are starting to stand out more and more. Such as Wright, Clowney, Henry, and especially Stuckey.

Thats not too shabby depth wise for a position that was being seriously questioned before the draft. Lets hope our starters are noticing some competition behind them and step their game up as well.

Some of them have actually seen Stuckey play on the practice field and do well, while Henry is an unknown outside of college. Tell me, aside from his height, what impresses you so much about Henry?

I see him as a Dedric Ward type of guy. I think he could develop into a pretty good #3 receiver. I saw him play in college a bunch, he's a guy I'm really hoping will develop into something fun to watch.
