People want press conferences to be entertaining like a TV show, or for them to get their insider news from the coaches and GMs.... i can't fathom how completely foolish that thought process is.
Well, some "fans" would simply prefer better press conferences when their team goes 4-12 or have back-to-back losing seasons. Those exciting press conferences rectify the situation for them because at least the coach is explaining to them what they already know (we lost cause we suck). They'd prefer that than let's say, having a 16-0 season, and a coach come out and give repetitive, vague, dull answers in his press conferences that leaves things in the air for people to speculate about. Go figure.
1. We haven't had back to back losing seasons under Mangini. We've barely covered the back to back part. 2. Can you explain to me how them telling us specifics would help them? The franchise? Us? 3. Why the fuck would an "exciting" press conference rectify a 4-12 situation?
They are both a little arrogant and too much in the mold of Parcells. With that said it?s only their third season. I think they need a little more time before we can tell the type of job they are doing. Everyone makes mistake along the way. I think they are learning on the job. Hopefully, they can bring us some winning football.
Complaining about boring press conferences... when is there an exciting one? We are who they thought they were?
This thread and the New Stadium/West Side Stadium are perfect threads created to bitch about nothing. All I see posted on those threads is nothing but a big "WAAAAHHHHH" and reasonable people trying to help those make sense of the situation. Give it up already. I wouldn't be surprised if we get a thread going in the near future about the colors of the uniforms and/or design. "Bored of our uniforms as much as I am?" Surprisingly enough, it'll be 20 pages long.
Mangini is not as good at relating to the media as Herm was. No doubt about that, Herm was a god with that. However, if the team is winning, it really doesn't matter how the press conferences are. Honestly, I think Mangini can be pretty funny from time to time, at least when we're winning. When we're losing, everything snowballs, and that's what we just experienced. Herm looked bad with the media when we went 4-12 (then again, he was also plotting his escape).
Press conferences? Are we talkin' press conferences? Seriously, how the F is this idiotic thread already 3 pages?
Hahaha, this is the same principle that makes me disagree with the whole decrease of draft selection to 10 minutes. The idea that the offseason should be a source of entertainment to the fans.
I'm glad someone else feels that way. When it comes down to it, I like the old school thinking of the people in control and not the new "fit it to the people" minds that seem to run the show these days: Fuck the fans- they'll watch anyway.
That's because Parcells wasn't political to the press. He would tear them apart for asking stupid questions. It was hilarious to listen to.
Dude would you rather him say, "Pennington will be the starter next year" Just so you can bitch more. Nothing is going on, what do you want him to say.
actually it was quite relevant, was it the previously bad knee and an addition to the original degenerative condition or was it something to the other knee that would be corrected by simple surgery. and i know you were looking to get that statement out of me so you could say it would give them the advantage when we tried to shop him. if that is the case even with all the hush fuckin hush about it guess what they still did physicals prior to trading for him so its a moot point. to the fanbase that IS quite relevant, to the rest of the nfl heads it is something they will find out anyway.
i think a few people would like to dig up john mckay the old bucs coach his team sucked but he treated the presser like an evening at the improv.
