I am really thinking about buying a Gholston Jersey, but im not sure if i should hold off to see if he changes his jersey or not?

Do u think there is a decent chance he changes his number or should i just buy the danm thing?

Yah I was thinking the same thing. I am just worried about a future number change when Barton leaves? For some reason I have a feeling Barton won't be back within the next couple years and Gholston could go back to number 50 if that is the case.

As a rule, I don't ever get a rookie's jersey this is one of the many reasons, they may want to revert to their college number in a few years, or they may not be as studly as we hope, or some injury may befall them. I usually wait until they have been a Jet a number of years before buying a jersey. Ala Pennington, Coles, Chrebet, Martin and I have no defensive Jersey's yet, but I am due a Rhodes one because of his new rocking contract...

I got burned with a Moss jersey cuz he went to Wash later in the year. Think I'll wear my Chrebet jersey till it falls apart and proceed to buy another one.

So what if he changes it back, 56 is nicer than 50 IMO anyway.

Do the respectable thing and don't buy a jersey. Go and get yourself a jacket or a sweatshirt.

If you're an adult and you're going to spend money on an article of clothing that has another man's name on the back, give yourself a serious look in the mirror. Unless that player is your relative or boyfriend, you shouldn't wear an article of clothing that has another man's name on the back of it.

Kids get a pass because they're allowed to have "idols" or guys they want to be like. But if you're a grown man and you still want to look like your favorite player (I love the 300-pounders in #80 by the way), there's something not quite right about that. You should be past the point at which you have a "hero."

I totally get wanting to support the team by wearing its colors. I don my favorite Jets sweatshirt (a classic I've had since 1989) and hat each game day as I root them on. Go ahead and wear green and white until your heart's content - just don't wear a jersey.

    Cheers.

I still know a few fools who have Vilma #53 jerseys...

Do yourself a favor and wait until August....

I wouldn't buy a rookie's jersey anyway... Bust potential, combined with the potential for him to play for 4 years and walk are too high to warrant paying for a jersey...

If you're going to buy one, I'd go for Cotchery or Rhodes, as they're both on board for a while...

I Dont know i wouldnt be suprised if after Barton is gone Gholston doesent go back to #50. So waiting wouldnt be the worse thing.

I actually don't know what you're talking about as I'm not into the "late night ppv action." I'm usually too busy in bed with my fiance (sleeping or otherwise) to check out this "late night ppv action" you seem to know so much about.

Speaking of getting laid, good luck trying to get laid wearing your shiney new jersey.

    Cheers.

I own a Chrebet, Pennington, and Moss jersey because I respect what they did on the football field not because I want to look like them. Trust me I'm not a 5' 10 black man with 4.3 speed.

So all the (adult) sport fans in the world that wear the jersey of their favorite player or team are losers and since you haven't bought a new piece of Jets clothing since 1989 you are THE MAN.....I've found a new hero and its you.....can I buy one of those 1989 sweatshirts so I can be just like you!
I've been laid more times wearing a Jets jersey then you have been wearing a sweatshirt from 1989!

It's tough...I bought a Vilma jersey believing he was the future of the franchise--and he was--but things change fast in today's NFL.

The safest jersey to buy is someone who's retired--your 1960's, 1980's or 1998 Jets--but even then, you hope the guy doesn't go out and do something stupid--like cut his wife's head-off.

If you really want to make a choice you'll never regret, go with the great defensive end of the 1968 Super Bowl Champs, Verlon Biggs #86.

He's dead and unlikely to cause you any embarrassment.
