I'm not bashing them just telling the facts. What the difference between "bashing" and being realstic?
The Jets have had 3 good teams in 30 years: 1982, 1985 and 1998. Every other team that made the playoffs or threatened too was DOA to the elite teams once it got there. That's realism for you. All the rest of this crap is people who are too young to know or too dumb to figure it all out.
There nothing wrong with hoping ur team going to beat out the Pats but we all know that not going happen. I love to gamble and do a lot of it so I think with my head and my heart. I will admit I won some money off Jets games last season that they lost.
Sorry man, but both 2002 and 2004 were good teams. In 2004, we beat a good SD team on the road, and were 3 missed FG's from beating a good Pitt team and reaching the Championship. Those teams were limited, but definitely qualify as good. The fact that you predicted Miami to win a minimum of 7-8 games next year discredits you entirely in my eyes. sour grapes i say!
Remember that's what everyone was saying about the giants, and look what happened. I think we have a pretty good shot.
A lot has to happen for us to take the AFC East Brady has to go down for the season So does Moss BellyCHEAT has to forget how to coach players to HIS system. Sutton has to learn how to coach a defense from week 1 to 17 Penny has to learn how NOT to force plays Clemens has to learn how NOT to overthrow his receivers and how to go through his progressions Our defense has to learn how to STOP the run and RUSH the passer Our line has to learn to open holes and SUSTAIN their blocks All these things come together and we MIGHT have a chance to win the AFCE
How many people on this site including yourself predicted the Jets would win less than 5 games last year? Most people on this site assume Buffalo doesn't exist in our division.
What qualifies you as a bonafide Jets fan is that you think either the 2002 or 2004 teams were actually more than just average to good teams. If you were a Steelers fan you'd call those two of the worse teams the Steelers have had in the last 20 years and you'd be right.
The fall of the Patriots has begun. Its our turn to take the division. It all starts in week # 2 when we face them in our house after an impressive 35-13 win in Miami as Clemens throws 2 TD's and TJ's runs for 2 scores. I think we are going to have the defense to play with the big boys. Take this years additions, last years rookies and free agents with one year under their belt and the addition of Callaghan and I see big things.
We have attacked the Pats every year since 2003 and they continue to win the division by large margins... i will pick them every year until someone else actually takes the AFC East from them. Once the fall is seen, then i will believe it. I will wish, however, that we take the wild card again next year--- thats being real.
If we're really lucky the Pats will decline when Brady is either hurt or begins to decline himself. Or maybe Belichik and/or Pioli goes away. If we're unlucky the next QB will be just as good and in a half dozen years we'll still be staring at the Pats juggernaut. That's what happened in San Francisco from 1980 to the mid to late 90's. For those who say the salary cap will do in the Pats I'd look really hard at how they keep stockpiling draft picks. The cap isn't going to do anything to them at all. We'll be in worse cap shape in 3 years than they are.
