Wow, I was thinking this would be a post about who would eat the most doughnuts and gain 55 pounds before camp.
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/writers/peter_king/04/14/draft/2.html Can't wait to see him on the field this upcoming season.
Gholston wants to buy his mother a house. He can't do that if he is holding out. I say McFadden because Raiders are the team most likely to pay up to stop a hold out.
Dude that is not even funny. I had first hand experience of that with a lady friend and let me tell you it's no cake walk. Newport beach, 1991. Imagine your on the beach making love to a cheese grader while intoxicated and waking up with what amounts to be a more than serious rassberry on your peter. yeah, fun times........:drunk: O, and I'm worried about Gholston holding out as well. :shit:
If the Raiders are a team most likely to pay up to stop a holdout, why would there be a...baaah...i'm outta here.
McFadden has already said he plans to be in TC on time and there won't be any hold outs. We'll see what he actually does, however.
Thomas will be lucky to play on special teams--2 and one half sacks for an entire season at a sack happy position aint gonna cut it
What do you guys really think motivates Gholston? Coach Tressel says this "taking plays off" observation is just ignorance of what Gholston's responsibilities were on any given play. Do you think Gholston has worked out and improved his game to get a $20 million guaranteed pay day? Why do you think Gholston has more sacks than anybody else in the Kiddie Leagues for the last two years? He was playing against some relatively serious opponents while he did this, it seems like. What kind of pride do you think Gholston has in his reputation? Have you heard him talk about what he does on the football field? One of his team mates was interviewed recently (sorry, I don't have the link), and he says that Gholston would come out of film study and suddenly start saying, "I'm going to dominate on Saturday." Say it right out loud to his team mates. And according to this OSU team mate, he would. Think about what Gholston will confront every day with the NYJ. He will have the highest profile on the field as a rook who has already been paid more than anybody else on the Defense. So everybody on the field on his side of the line of scrimmage will be staring at him and waiting for him to show up...on any play, on every play. Apart from the DC and the HC, there will also be a linebackers coach -- Jim Hermann who is originally out of Univ. of Michigan I believe it is. Do you think Jim Hermann will let Mr. OSU Gholston forget what it is he's supposed to do on every play? There will also be A Defensive Line Assistant with a nasty attitude that was cultivated by him and Parcells that goes by the name of Bryan Cox. Bryan Cox will be interested in all of "Mr. Gholston's" details. How many reps did Mr. Gholston due do this morning on the free weights? What is his grade on that last play? Mr. Gholston, do you know what the SILB's assignment is on this play? And so on. Mr. Gholston is going to be a very busy rookie this off-season.
I take it you are joking!!!! Since he already signed with Miami but anyway I say that it will be McFadden and I also think Gholston will be the first top 10 pick that is signed.
Those are all good things, it makes him not have any room for this myth of "laziness." And-- this is where it gets better-- his calm demeanor will not allow the attention, pressure, and expectations to overwhelm him.
With the history of MT, I would be surprised if its Gholston. Im going with Matt Ryan, who might be the most undesirable top five qb taken in any draft in years. He is the luck of the draw of basically a weak qb field...but will want top 5 qb money. Then again, he probably signed already.
Dorsey thought he'd go in the top 3. He went fifth. He wanted New Orleans to trade up and draft him. He went to the Chiefs, a team that has to sign more draft picks than anyone else. He has an agent who lost a ton of speculative cash when his biggest client went to prison on federal charges for dogfighting. Nothing says "holdout" more than this guy.
Now the first time I saw this line of reasoning, I thought it was sarcasm. But you seem pretty serious. What history, exactly? Darrelle Revis was the second to last player signed last year.
