    Dude, you need to relax.

Wait until you've been following this team for 45 years. It makes the landing a lot easier when reality hits if you don't get so high on hope!

Did we get better with this draft ? Hopefully, but it's yet to be seen. Nobody else is standing still either. There is a lot of time and a lot of personnel moves yet to made before the season starts.

It's great to be pumped for the season but at this rate you'll be burned out by training camp.

Garrard Has been really good for a long time; since they also had a pansy injury prone starter from Marshall he got a decent amount of playing time and it never made sense that they kept handing it back to the Marshal puss.

I said he was the guy we should make a trade for about three years ago and got laughed off the board by all the football experts around here.

I've been following it for 30.Its been enough pain. At least you got to see a SB. I've also seen Tampa Bay go from the league joke for 20 years to winning a SB. Same w/ Green Bay. Same with the Giants.Same with the Colts. I've seen San Fran and the Pats go from jokes to a dynasty. Its our turn. Everything is different, we will no longer be the B team, but an equal partner. Our practice facility will be the league standard. Its not about the draft or the free agents, its about everything. The changing of an entire culture. I'm not the rah rah type, but we are about the become one of the standard bearers for the league.

i agree we've closed the gap, but unfortunly i dont think were the best team in our division, i understand the optimistic attitude and hope for this season, as far as a super bowl hang over, i dont think the cheatriots will have one, just like the spygate scandal they'll probaly use losing the super bowl as motivation

Yeah, if you really want to close the gap, punch Michael Strahan in the mouth.

We have a frontrunner for RobA's replacement as Most Optimistic Poster, that's for sure.

Being optimistic OR negative, has nothing to do with it. I'm being REALISTIC, we have NOT closed anything ON PAPER, nothing is proven until we go out there and perform.

I AM optimistic, but I am also a REALIST, I'm not going to say we've done anything until we go out there and PROVE it.

    Talk is 'CHEAP'

This is the key point in why we have not "closed the gap". One injury on the offensive line and the season goes bye-bye!

It's not good when one player getting hurt on your o-line has a greater impact than your QB getting hurt.

You sir are the voice of Reason! We have no depth on either side of our line. Lines are where Championships are won!

I guess there's nothing for me to add...this is a basic truth right now. I wonder how jolly & smug Tangini is feel'n right now. Jets' are basically in the same position as they ended the season last year. Please don't let the big name signings fool u.

I have to separate this 2-headed animal pf Tangini now. Mangini is basically doing a good job, whereas Tannenbaum is clueless as a G.M. He might be good at contracts & figures, but he's missing the boat as a talent man.

I can't let Mangini off the hook either because those two are good friends and I think they both have an infatuation with Gimmick guys like Brad Smith who are athletic but not football players. After last year there is no excuse not to have done more on both lines. We trade down a 4th round pick for a guy we could have gotten if we had stayed put with our second round pick.

So you think we are the best team in the division. On what basis can you make this statement? The QB situation is tenuous at best. In fact we don't even know who is going to start. I have yet to hear an analyst predict a winner of a division without knowing who the starting QB is. How about they play a few games before we anoint them the best in the division.

Got to love for how you treat this as fact.

    And again:

Mangini/Tanny has used half of their first and second round picks on O-line or fron 7 guys.

If you're going to treat your statements as facts, please make sure they're actually right.

    BTW:

    Keller >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
    Brad Smith

Some people are really underrating just how important a pass catching TE is in the modern offense. The Colts have Clark. The Browns have KW2. The Chiefs (few years ago) and Chargers built their whole passing game on their TE and the running game. The 49ers best reciever right now is their TE. Marcedes Lewis is arguably the best reciever the Jaguars have on offense. The Cowboys have Witten. Giants have Shockey and Boss. Redskins have Cooley.

Actually I meant Line depth. As we stated earlier one injury to any offensive lineman and we are back to a top five pick in 09. We need guys who can come in an at least do a decent job and we do not have that. I agree a Dallas Clark type would be great but the guy we got could have been had where we picked in the second and we could have saved the pick. Im still not sold on the guy we have playing right tackle this year either. We are thin on the bench at all positions regarding our lines.

The off season isn't over, in fact it's only half over. You can't address line depth until you first have a line, which they had to do first. Then the draft, then you worry about depth. If the season started tomorrow you could start wringing your hands about what happens if someone on the line gets hurt, but it doesn't, there is still a long way to go. Remember, we got Pete Kendall in August because he wore out his welcome in Arizona before he wore it out here. Let's let the off season continue to play out before printing playoff tickets or jumping off a bridge. Unless you really want to jump off bridges, I'm sure nobody will try to stop you.
