I've always felt that it takes about 5 years to really rate your draft. In 2003, we chose, Rd Sel # Player Position School 1 4 Dewayne Robertson DT Kentucky 2 53 Victor Hobson LB Michigan 3 85 B.J. Askew FB Michigan 5 140 Derek Pagel DB Iowa 5 150 Matt Walters DE Miami (Fla.) 6 200 Brooks Bollinger QB Wisconsin 7 237 Dave Yovanovits T Temple How would YOU rate that Draft today?
Well...considering that we've got nothing to show for it...on top of not having any of those guys on the current roster...I'm gonna give it a -3/10....in other words...the draft was "bunk".
Gee, 5 years into their careers..... People are in their prime 5 years into their careers. Ummmmmmmm- F minus.
D, and I say that just because there were 3 starters from there that helped us in the 2006 playoff run in Ascrap, Benedict Hobson and D-Rob. And both D-Rob and Benedict Hobson were around in the 2004 run too. Bollywood actually started games as a 6th rounder, for more than 1 team too. D sounds just about right. Itd be an F if the Bears had drafted well with the picks we gave them, but it turned into Grossman and Hayes neither have been that GREAT for them.
Pretty shitty Draft even though Askew is a Pro Bowl FB he wasnt for us and Hobson had 1 good season but thats about it.
It's obviously not a good draft, because Robertson wasn't the player we thought he would be when we moved up to get him. Hobson though in the 2nd round isn't awful, he started for us. Askew is a major part of the Bucs running attack, Bollinger actually got some playing time for a 6th round pick. The other 3 guys were two 5ths and a 7th which really your taking a chance on those guys.
Dave Yovanovits saved this draft. In all seriousness it was a below average draft. 3 average players and the rest were awful. D.
DROB is a starter for a 4-3 team, he is not a total bust. Definatley not worth what we gave up for him but he expect him to turn it around in Denver. Had we not switched defensive formations this draft would look a lot better im gonna give it a low C- just above a D
If you are going to pick at Bradway's picks, are you mad at him pick Santana Moss, LaMont Jordan, Kareem McKenzie, Jonathan Vilma, Jerricho Cotchery, Kerry Rhodes? As a general manager the guy was awful. He's not a bad talent evaluator. Not to mention, Tannenbaum gives almost all the credit to Clinkscales and Bradway for the 2006 and 2007 drafts.
Benedict Hobson:drunk:...dude, we dropped his ass like a virgin prom date as soon as his contract expired. Who gives a crap where he ended up? ...as for the draft: I agree with the D - at least some of these losers still play in the NFL, although none for our team.
uh......yeah....that one didn't turn out too well. Although, I wouldn't call DROB a "BUST"...he's a pretty good player...just didn't work out here. And Hobson is a decent LB!
