    Jets Fans,

I am currently playing Football at Purdue and was Dustin's teammate until he graduated. I would just like to say that you guys got a great player and teammate.

You all know about his physical talents (speed, vertical, hands, strength) but what you might not know is that he is a great student of the game. What separates him from the rest is not just his ridiculous physical abilities, but his ability to read defenses pre-snap and adjust his routes/blocks accordingly. And as a person, he was the funniest guy on our team. He was the guy who was center of attention making everyone cry laughing, BUT when he gets on the grass, he's all business.

Don't be too scared about his "poor blocking ability". If you guys have a somewhat decent TE coach, you will not only have yourself a great receiving weapon, but also a solid blocker. He is VERY strong. He is VERY intense. With a little professional coaching, his "poor blockinig ability" will be something to laugh at.

You guys got a GREAT player in Dustin keller.

Interesting insight. I'm not thrilled with this pick, but I do get the sense he has the kind of intangibles that separates good players from average ones. Thanks for posting.

I'm liking this pick as the draft goes on. I think with all the pick-ups in the off season, Clemens and Pennington will have time to get the ball to Keller.

Clemens has an arm and when given the time, he's gonna be a great QB.

So, wait, YOU'RE the teammate of Dustin Keller at Purdue, or you're quoting this from some other board? If the latter, please post the link.

Good to hear. At least we have a level headed player, hopefully he can turn into something special..

Good read. I felt the same way. Look up Dustin Keller on youtube, seems to be a WR/TE hybrid...

Sounds like some lonely Jets fan wrote that himself for some attention.

Ugh, I would much rather have had a Safety. It would have been SO sweet to steak Philips from the Giants.

It's only natural. This guy was highly rated by a lot of experts, and he was a likely candidate for the Giants at 31. However, we have bad experience with 1st round TEs and had very different expectations for the draft. I think both of our first round picks could be great if they're used properly. I think a lot of responsibility for Keller's success will fall on our QBs. I've always thought Baker was slightly underused. Keller is clearly much more talented, and hopefully that makes a difference in the effort Chad and/or Kellen makes to get him the ball.

I was not either until I realized that we got the best receiver in the entire draft. Think Dallas Clark and tell me if you care whether he can block. He is a more accomplished version of what people saw in Vernon Davis. He could be a game and offense changer.
