Not likely, who the hell is going to trade a 4th for a TE everyone knows will be cut? We can't even get a 7th for the highly overrated Baker.

I agree. The last good TE we had was Mickey Schuler. That's a long time ago. People need to chill. I understand about trading up. Perhaps they were afraid someone else was going after him. We all have no clue what is going on behind the scenes.

The good reason is that he slipped and was going any pick now.

Ive warmed up to the idea of Keller BUT the only way is if we deal Baker for a 3rd or 4th. I love Baker but its clear management doesnt like him.

i think he woulda been there at 36, but they must have heard something.

we all know teams contact players, asking them if any team has spoken to them. If the Jets called Keller and asked, "have any teams called you?" maybe he tells them "yeah, the Giants just did..."

i mean, im not claiming this is the case, but we don't know for sure if he would have been there.

and i agree with whoever posted that he'll probably make a bigger impact for us this year than any other #3 WR; especially if Baker is gone, which seems likely.

i don't like trading up like this for this guy, but hey, maybe he'll be a very good player and actually score some points for us.

    Thanks for posting Electric.

You can see his speed, leaping ability, moves and intensity in those highlites. Notice how there were NO clips of his blocking? My question is, does he block like poor NFL TE's or does he block like a WR? If its the latter, maybe the CS sees him as a WR?????

Let's face it. They took the laziest son of a bitch in the draft with their first pick and then traded up to take a TE with their second pick while every single WR was still on the board. This has to be the worst draft in Jets history.

I still can't believe Donnie Avery went as the 1st WR. Shows how much the "experts" know.

Believe it or not, you guys are making me feel much better about this pick... Honestly, my first reaction was complete and total disgust-- but there are some very good points here... Giving up that pick really gets to me... Thanks to all defending this pick...

    Calm down...

Lets wait for these players to play before declaring these guys as suddenly useless.

i like the keller pick, although it came out of no where.

i want dre moore tho. we gotta get that 34 de.

dre moore or pat sims, anyone think they can fall to the third to the point where we'd be able to trade back in???

i think they said that the jets really liked dre moore, had like 4 meetings w/ him or sumthing

The knock on him is that he doesn't block. He was drafted to help the passing game, and I believe he'll do that, and then some.

I dunno I just see both Gholston and Keller as Boom or Bust guys... hopefully they both are home runs like our picks last year... But i'm worried because they say keller can't block, after watching a few highlight vids, he is a physical freak and he brings us some serious versatility, but if he can't block I believe he should play some WR instead of TE...

Since we analyzed the hell outta gholston predraft so we know the knocks on him...

I didn't like the pick either, but will like it better if they trade Baker. The pick all about the Pats to me, attack where they are most vulnerable. Part of my problem is his height and size, kind of just a big WR. I was looking at Merling or Devin Thomas w/ the trade up. The good news is I didn't love the trade up for Harris last year either. If we get a 4th or 5th this year for Baker, its a good move.
