Even without slam-dunk, "we trade with rams" sounds like you're posting news, not opinion. Try "We should trade with Rams" or "How about this trade with the Rams" or "Let's trade with the Rams" - Something to show it's just an idea.
I don't know about Draft Value charts, but I'd assume the Jets would have to give up there 2nd round pick+ to trade up to 2. And in my unprofessional opinion, I believe we could get more from the players we'd draft by staying at #6 and keeping our second rounder, than ponying up for 1 pick on day 1. my 2 cents
ya, i know, but seriously, I had a ESP moment. what can I tell you. I got a itchy feeling it will happen. Know it doesnt make sense. But I itch.
you will get alot of shit from the "elitist" fans we have on this board. they seem to need some ex lax most of the time as they are typically all bound up and so into the jets that they REFUSE to have any fun. i often feel like im sitting at an old age home listening to a bunch of 80 year olds talk about football. i didnt misunderstand your title, or even your post. and you know what if i did it really wouldnt have been that big of a deal anyway. maybe im just a little more relaxed.
dont sweat it, your slam dunk title was perfect. i understood it exactly. posts that read 'done deal', or 'jets trade with rams' are just old news rehashed so i never open those posts. plus ive never seen a thread stay on topic for more than 3 or 4 posts so any thread that has 9 pages is another waste of time.
It would likely be this year's and next year's 2, or a 2 and a player. I'm not sure who the Rams would want off our roster, though.
Remember when Clinton in 1998, in a speech to drum up public support for his air raids on Iraq, said "we had little doubt than and I have no doubt now, if left unchecked, Sadaam Hussein will use his weapons of mass destruction again"..... Don't hear much about all those quotes anymore, do we.....
finally...a post that makes perfect sense. I'm with you. Why trade picks we need for a guy that could very well be there if we stay put. All this bullshit talk about moving to the Rams spot is making me nervous...as this would be a colossal mistake.
Let's keep the politicking out, and let's keep the thread on topic. It would have been better if the original poster had said "Slam-dunk, we SHOULD or we WILL trade with Rams," Hell, it might have been better if this was posted as a reply to the other Rams thread on page 1, but that's a different story... I don't want to trade up. I want to keep the picks we have, get a backup OL, get a developmental WR, get another defensive back, get another linebacker. I don't want to trade up for anyone in this draft unless we're convinced Long, Gholston, and McFadden are all gone. If we trade up for Ryan, we're insane.
I don't understand (know) the KC trade mentioned here and why it would prompt us to go to #2. Just the mere thoght of going that high is something I can't see happening.
The Chiefs can take anybody right now. Obviously they now need a DE and are also weak at LB so they can easily take Long or Gholston now. Albert was a reach for the Chiefs all along and now they can wait to take an OL. Point is that it is possible that the players on top of our board will all be gone so thats why we may move up.
I like the cuse pic. But i think it is stupid to trade up 4 spots, what will that cost us? in terms of trades
So far here are some of the Jets first round slam dunks I've heard this year: 1. We WILL pick Chris Long. 2. We WILL pick McFadden. 3. We WILL trade down. 4. We WILL trade up for one of Long/McFadden. 5. It's a slam dunk that Gholston, McKlevin, and RDC will bust. 6. It's a slam dunk that the Cowboys will trade up with us for McFadden. I know theres more...thats alot of slam dunks and guarantees for one pick isn't it?
I Have a feeling if we do trade up with the Rams it will be to draft Chris Long...but i could be wrong and it could be McFadden.
