The fact that Mangini was there is a very good sign. A very good sign indeed.

I don't think there is ANY question that if DMC is there at #6 the Jets will pull the trigger and not think twice.

We truly need an exsplosive player on offense.

Can you imagine our offense with Coles, Cotchery, Jones, Washington, Baker, AND McFadden?! McFadden and Washington are the only game breakers, but all of those guys are capable of making plays.

Could be a GOOD season coming up. I just hope Kellen Clemens is ready to take this team to the postseason.

KC needs to make some big plays here and there and PROTECT THE FOOTBALL.

Our offense will need to pound the rock and that is exactly what our identity will be. Smashmouth football.

    1- Dolphins- Jake Long
    2- Rams- Glenn Dorsey
    3- Falcons- Matt Ryan/Sedrick Ellis
    4- Raiders- Chris Long
    5- Chiefs- Sedrick Ellis/Trade
6- New York Jets- Darren McFadden
    7 - Patriots - Vernon Gholston

I fear watching DMC getting bitch slapped by Gholston 2-3 games a year for the next 5 years.

Of course if both are available and we take Gholston, the Pats could end up with Maroney AND McFadden, what a freakin duo that would be.

So we can only really worry about ourselves, and not what the Pats would do. Draft whoever fits us best.

KC is looking to trade Jared Allen, if that happens no way do they pass on Gholston.

I actually think the Raiders take Gholston over Chris Long anyway. There is a very real chance we'll get to choose between Chris Long and DMC.

That would be an enormous decision. I think the obvious choice would be Long but I wouldn't want to be the one who had to live with that decision for the next 10 years.

Haha..we could even afford to trade down to #7 and make NE throw in their 2nd so they could make the decision instead. (j/k)

I just hope that the draft plays out with us only having a shot at one of: C. Long, Gholston or McFadden, I do not want a choice, but I want one of those 3 guys, I really hope NE gets DRC, Albert or anyone else that I would consider to be top 20-30, but not a top 5 player.

    Optimum Draft:

    J. Long - Miami
    C. Long - St Louis
    Dorsey - Atlanta
    McFadden - Raiders
    Clady - Chiefs
    Gholston - Jets

Ryan, Ellis and Rivers are next on the top tier talent and they won't go to NE so that would leave Albert and the CBs who I would rank top 20-30 talent

Not that I don't want him on the team, but I think Gholston will be gone by the time our number is up. Depending on how things break, I think Herm takes him if not he goes even sooner.

If Gholston falls to us, I think I would rather have him only because I view him as more of a guarantee in terms of instant production given what we will shell out in terms of funds. While I think Dmac will also be good, I think there is just a hair more risk, and I am not even caring about off-field stuff.

If Gholston and both Longs are gone, I rather trade out. McFadden is all hype IMO.

i would really worry about the raiders pick, al is so unpredictable and a running game is what they need.

Part of me would be upset if we traded out of getting Dmac, but also the Objective side of me would understand.

The only thing is if DMac was there and we traded out to pick up picks, and all the picks we got for DMac busted, while DMac went on to be Rookie of the Year with 1400 yards and then to Canton 10 years later with 2 or 3 SB rings, it would yet be another saga of getting the Sapp sucked out of us.

DMC is not nearly as good as you all think. Mayock actually has Mendenhall as the #1 back in the draft. DMC goes down too easily cus his legs are very average in strength. My main point with him is when the hell is he going to play, on 3rd downs? We need our #6 to be a starter and then aint happenen with DMC. Now with Gholston it will or he will at least see a ton more playing time than DMC.

Listen, we are not going to win the SB this year so we don't need to reach for that one playmaker on offense - especially when we are set at RB with T Jones, Washington and Chatman. If anything we need a WR or QB as the playmaker on offense, anything but RB.

SO, draft Gholston if he is there and maybe a guy like John David Booty in 4th round or trade up to 3rd round if we need to get Booty AND in next years draft you can go after the home run threat on offense. We will be much closer to the SB in 2009 and 2010. This year we have no idea what we have at QB so we are not that "one puzzle piece away from a championship team", so no need to reach on a RB position that we are solid at, when we have so many holes at LB, CB and WR.

Build a ferocious D this year and plug the holes and next year address the offensive skill positions in FA or the draft when we will be a real threat at winning the SB.

Drafting DMC with so many other needs going into 2008 is stupid to me.

I hear ya, but It can go both ways...this draft is deep with RB talent, RB isn't even a need here. I wouldn't mind if they drafted DMC then trade him for a kings ransom. If I'm drafting a RB that high, I want a guy that is a every down back and can move the pile. Not another glorified scat back.....

I'm really curious how you came to that opinion. Have you watched him play in actual games? I find it really hard to believe that anyone that has watched him play and doesn't get all their info from Mike Mayock can come to the conclusion that he is all hype.

The kid has immense talent and has backed it up with top notch performance his whole college career. He is generally regarded as the best player in the entire draft. He comes from a so so college program that only gets any hype because he was on the team.

I don't get that comment at all.

Yeah, I've watched him play. I rather fill a need @ 6. Also i've never heard of Mike Mayock....

  20. If somebody of equal valuee to DMAC is there at 6 that fills a need...great...on the other hand, many scenario's have DMAC as the best player available at # 6, w/ little to no equal value available. It'd be extremely foolish to reach for a need at that spot.
