I think this is as easy a schedule as '06. The only thing that may make it harder is that the Pats went 16-0 last year. They won't this year and if they have 1 or 2 injuries they won't come close.
no home prime time games that sucks.. I hope the flex gets us one. And also no back to back home games.
I see 8-8. Wins: at Miami, Cardinals, at Raiders, Chiefs, at Titans, at 49ers, Bills, Dolphins Losses: Patriots, at Chargers, Bengals, at Bills, Rams, at Patriots, Broncos, at Seahawks Conceivably, to me, they could win the Rams and Broncos games, but I always factor in at least 2 dumb losses (usually at home) when projecting the Jets' record. That said, I think they could also blow games to the Cards and Chiefs. I'm hoping for 10-6, but I'm more realistically looking at 8-8 or 6-10. Just my $.02.
But the playoffs are in the ODD year...lol...it does seem to repeat the patern, especially after a 4-12 season.
Last year I predicted the team would go 6-10 and then ended up 4-12. So, this year I am predicting they will go 11-5 with this powder puff schedule and they will probably end up 9-7.
JETS need to go on a 6 win run from Sept 29 - Nov 9. Look at the opponents: Ariz 8-8 Cinn 7-9 @Oak 4-12 KC 4-12 @Buff 7-9 St Louis 3-13 During that span we are at home 4 of the 6 games, and our opponents records in 2007 are 33 - 63. Think about that a 34% win percentage. If they can run the table 10 wins is very very feasible.
I agree with everything in your post. Although I would switch a blown game from the Cards to the Dolphins.
Well I'm stoked. This vegas Jets fan will be seeing a Monday night game! Too bad my roomate is a chargers fan.
Did anyone else look at the week 5 bye and think "well at least our defense will turn it around earlier this season..."??????????????
Because they get to play us twice so that is only 8 wins added in. We get to play them twice so that is 32 wins added in.
Wow. That week one at Miami game is as close to a must-win as an opener can get. Win that, even if we lose the next two, then the easier part of our schedule kicks in, we can win a few, then at NE, at TEN will be difficult. Down the stretch is not too difficult though.
Patriots play the easiest schedule because they went 16-0. Since they can't play themselves, their schedule is automatically easier than most of the rest of the teams. If we get steady QB play, there's no reason we can't win at least 8 games.
