We're in the dead of the off season with most of free agency done with and the draft still a month away. Hopefully this can start up some discussion. Which decade had the best class of QB's? 60's Unitas (Colts) Namath (Jets) Starr (Packers) Dawson (Chiefs) Jurgensen (Eagles/Redskins) Blanda (Oilers) 70's Staubach (Cowboys) Bradshaw (Steelers) Griese (Dolphins) Tarkenton (Vikings) Stabler (Raiders) 80's Montana (49ers) Marino (Dolphins) Elway (Broncos) Fouts (Chargers) 90's Young (49ers) Favre (Packers) Aikman (Cowboys) Marino (Dolphins) Elway (Broncos) Kelly (Bills) Moon (Oilers/Vikings/Seahawks) 2000's Manning (Colts) Brady (Patriots) Favre (Packers) McNabb (Eagles) Palmer (Bengals) Brees (Chargers/Saints) Feel free to add QB's to the list.
Other notables- 1960s Y.A. Tittle John Brodie John Hadl Daryle Lamonica Don Meredith 1970s Jim Hart Roman Gabriel Ken Anderson Archie Manning Bert Jones 1980s Brian Sipe Ron Jaworski Tommy Kramer Joe Theismann Jim Plunkett Dave Krieg Neil Lomax Phil Simms Warren Moon Bernie Kosar Boomer Esiason 1990s Stan Humphries Mark Brunell Randall Cunningham 2000s Steve McNair Trent Green Matt Hasselbeck Jeff Garcia Ben Roethlisberger Eli Manning Jake Delhomme Marc Bulger
I like 80s and 90s but pretty much all of the decades are better than what we have current, it feels like a QB shortage
Great topic!! here are a few that also should be included: 60s Y.A. Tittle Daryle Lamonica 80s Boomer Esiason Dave Krieg
how could i leave Simms off the list? Those are some good additions - the only thing I remember about theisman is the LT incident.
Tough to decide between the 80's and 90's especially since Marino and Elway are in the 80's and 90's on your list. SInce i consider them 80's qb's I go with 80's by a very small margin.
