What do we do about our current QB issue? Do we give KC another chance with the revamped OL? Do we let CP try again and see if he can lead us to another playoff run? Do we go out and draft another QB like Brohm or Flacco? Or got to free agency and get somebody like Quinn Gray, Trent Dilfer, Culpepper or even Leftwich? Or even try to work a trade to get Brady Quinn away from the Browns?
stand pat with what we got, and play KC all year. We need to know what we have. We should see improvement this year, the question is how much? If the QB position is a big ??? by end of the season, then in the 2009 draft we address that position.
OK...yes to KC...No to CP...yes to draft 3rd rounder (trent eddie)...no to veteran unless we trade chad for a 3rd, then sign quinn grey, no to BQ unless it's for 3 or less.
CP all the way!!!! He proved he can do it, so behind this O-line he definetely can get us in the post season
Our QB situation is bad but not as bad as they have in Miami, Atlanta, Minnesota, Oakland and a host of other cities and this probably isn't the year to address it. They are not going to trade Pennington. As it is they only have 2 signed QBs on the roster now. If anything he will probably be the starter.
The NYJ CS has said there will be an open competition that Chad, Kellen, and Tui will compete for the starter. It will take place at OTAs, TC, and Pre-season. The best man should win the starter position. Apparently, the CS believes that NYJ skill players are entitled to have a chance to work behind an OL that actually functions. This is not an unreasonable position to take, once the CS faced up to the fact that the OL has let the NYJ down the last two years. That 10-6 record was a result of playing a majority of weak teams, and when the NYJ came up against contender DLs they wilted. The NYJ will be in a much better position to select, coach up, and evaluate new skill players after they have proved that their OL can pass block and run block well. Otherwise, getting new skill players is a waste of money.
Hopely we draft a QB in the fourth like Woodson or Angie in the 4th round and KC beats out Chad in the offseason.
This is the best possible scenario. If Clemens can't cut it then we will find our savior in the 2009 draft.
I wouldnt mind the kind from San Diego State University his TD to Int ration is nuts dont know if its his competition or he is that good
Where is he going and who will be taking his spot? If anything I believe not only will he be on the team but the starter as well.
Chad couldn?t start on the average high school team ? anyone who has watched him (attempt to) play over the last four years and says otherwise has got some serious man-love for him. As for where he goes ? who gives a shit?he?s not staying here and being a 6M backup with career stats comparable to Joey Harrington.
The draft will tell it all. If they draft a QB, then they don't like Clemens. A CS should know what they have in a QB. One sign already that they don't like Clemens is that they did not name him the starter. That is not a good sign. If they feel Clemens is only a backup, then I see them drafting a guy in the 2nd/3rd round. I really don't see them moving Pennington, there is no postive in it unless they do a trade and get decent value. What is the point in cutting him, as long as we have money under the cap, then he will be here and probably starting at some point in the season.
QBs are weak in this year's draft. Normally, I would agree but I'm not sure there is any QB in the 2nd or 3rd that they would prefer over another position player at the same spot.
