I'd snap up Long in a New York Minute. Can you imagine him rushing from the line as Pace rushes from the edge? Great

Chris Long would be great for the Jets. If this happens, I'd be very VERY happy.

I actually see this as a very realistic mock. The hype that swarms so many boards is insane. McFadden is not all that great, sure, he is fast. That speed is useless if he is being wrapped up on a consistent basis, especially when this guy cant break a tackle to save his life. That is a HUGE problem.

The only part of this mock I dont agree with, is the obvious, Chris Long. He is above and beyond better then, Gholston. He is not a freak athlete like, Gholston. Long is more skilled, a better overall player by far.

I could see Al Davis making a retarded pick like that though, so who knows.. Stranger things have happened. By far.

I don't see Parcells giving Ryan 34 million. Then again there are no QB's in next years draft unless Tebow comes out and if he does he is the automatic #1.

Chris Long at 6th? I like Mayock more than most draft analyst but this is way too much. If it does happen, which is highly unlikely, it would be an awesome wake-up to one of the Jets fandom's wettest dream.

Since when did bigger & stronger equal better for a RB?

I actully don't think McFadden dropping out of the top ten is that unrealistic. Too many people are putting stock in running backs. If he gets past Oakland, I don't see the Jets taking him (despite all the man love on this board for him), then you have a slew of teams with young RBs that will pass - NE, Balt, Cincy, NO, Buff. Denver picks 12, but Shanny will not use a first rounder on a RB. Carolina? Chicago? (will they use another #1 on a RB after the Benson bust?). I could see Detroit taking him at 15. That scenario would not shock me in the least.

Cincy is in dire need of defensive players, plus they have Kenny Watson, Rudi Johnson, Chris Perry, and they drafted Kenny Irons last season....and to top it all off, I"m sure M.Lewis doesn't want any more potential "character problem" players on his roster.

    they won't even sniff McFadden.

out of the top players - chris long is my guy but i have posted all along that gholston is the more likely choice.....

HOWEVER - watching the combines and hearing what his pro day has offered - i am not as convinced as i was a few weeks ago.....

and yes his physique does raise questions about growth enhancers.....

if there is a chance in hell long drops to the jets i would do cartwheels - i am not sure if i would do cartwheels if we take gholston now.

    forget mcfadden

trade out is a legitimate possibility but we need a partner and teams just do not pony up like they used to.

No way do the Chiefs reach for Otah at 5. Even Herm is not that stupid, except when he and Birdbrain Boobway work together (see Bryan (invisible) Thomas, Dwayne (contract) Robertson, etc.

If Long falls to 3, we could ship Penny to Atl for a spot swap.

If there is a decent player left, KC will trade with anyone who wants to jump ahead of us. So let's say someone wants Gholston or DMac, KC will trade to the middle of the first round in a heartbeat (probably for cheap) because they need 3 O-lineman. I think we would do the same, but I doubt the opportunity will be there. If we don't take Dmac, he could fall way down because the next team that needs a RB probably Carolina.

How about the Pats at 7 for a two headed monster at Rb of Maroney and Mcfadden.

It baffles me to think that the NFL network employs Mike Mayock to come up with that garbage list. Jeff Otah at 5? Derrick Harvey at 7? McFadden behind the one-year wonder Mendenhall? He had Brandon Flowers as his #1 CB before the combine. He used to broadcast the NCAA tournament and now he is the best guy NFLN can get?

I can't take any mock seriously that doesn't have McFadden in the Top 10.
