The thing is, in a year's time we'll see who is right. Until then, it's their word vs. ours and neither knows for sure. So, let the games begin...
Just to shed some color on this.......... Alex Marvez wrote this crap. He was on the radio this AM while I was driving to work and previewed this. He knows jack shit about these players and what the Jets accomplished or tried to accomplish. He as laughing about the weight problems of Woody and Jenkins and how the Jets thought by magically waving their wand they would fix them. Faneca, he did not say much and I can not recall him saying anything earth shattering about the Pace signing. It really is amazing how little beat writers know, especially ones from shit holes like Miami. Marvez's comments are nothing I would lose sleep about. We get better analysis from some of the posters on this site versus that turd. Edit: I did not read the link until after I posted this.............lol I did not mean to regurgitate this shit............
Yea...no. I think it's fairly obvious that Mangini and Tannenbaum have the full backing of the owner on this one. Fans can call for their heads all day, only a few heads actually matter. There hasn't even been a rumor of Mangini's possible firing because of the 4-12 season. I can't smell desperation in this one. It's our coaching improving the team with intelligent, hard working, versatile, veterans from similar systems or systems that probably interest our coaching staff.
nobody is complaining about the players, it's what they paid them is in question. the problem is, though, that is the only way to play the free agent game. if you don't give them big money guarantees, someone else will. so, the only choice is to stay on the sideline and put the team together on the cheap, like last year, or spend money -- both of which people will complain about.
We have had 2 good years in 4 years, we have been an every toher year team since '02 w/ the even years being playoff years and the odd years being awful years.
Firstly we didn't spend jack s**t.I personally didn't write one check. You have to spend up to 80% of your cap anyway..Tannenbaum has done a great job with all this cap business so I'm sure he will continue to do so..Everyone we signed is a HUGE upgrade over what was there in 2007..I don't give a flyin f**k how much they were paid as long as they perform on the field..Go Jets...90% of these writers really don't know much except what they read from other dip s**ts and they need a story for there editor so they write some negative crap and put it in the paper.. Some of these newspapers should be made out of Charmin..at least they would have a purpose!!!
Top free agents ALWAYS get overpaid. Other teams are competing for them so the price naturally goes up. I do not sense desperation. They are cleaning house and upgrading talent. Tannenbaum would never hamstring his cap for the future. All that is left to do is clean out the stable of malcontents and has-beens, and two more good drafts and we might be in business.
