I am kinda worried that we are over-paying. I mean, Faneca is worth it, he is top 3 in the league...jenkins apparently needs a little motivation but can be a real force. Pace, however, is not weathered and proven yet.

look at other teams with linemen and Lbs that get this much money and look who those guys are. Let's hope that our FO is seeing that in these players and that it comes to fruition, because we're screwed if any one of these guys becomes a Bryan Thomas.

I don't want the FO to play Coles anything. He needs to shut up and play.

In the case of Pace, at least we are being fair to the guy and not putting him behind D-Rob to start off his new stint with the Jets. He has no excuses in regards to performance this year.

No salary cap would be no Good

Even though we would prob become good because were ny and have alot of money, No salary cap ruined baseball. There are teams like the Pirates and the Royals that you know have no chance every year. Now imagine the chiefs and the Bengals know that they can never compete cuz they just dont have the money.

That would be a sad day for football

I Trust Tannenbaum knows what he's doing with the whole cap thing.

I'm OK with the way the Jets handled the Kendall situation ONLY because of the end result... getting a 4th round pick AND Alan Faneca... however, that doesn't change the fact that losing him was a DIRECT cause for our offensive line becoming total shit.

If we dump Coles, you'll have the exact same thing happen at WR. Last year proved that Cotchery is a very good #2, and NOT a #1. Without Coles on the opposite side of the field, Cotchery was mostly invisible. The Jets NEED Coles out there in order to be an effective offense. I am not so certain the Jets could make out again the way they ultimately did at LG if we were to get rid of him.

His career doesn't have much left in the tank, so pay the man, let him retire as a Jet, and let us enjoy his last few years, as I am sure Coles will go out fighting.

I'm in agreement with you, while the guy is our top WR, he does nothing but bitch every season. He shouldn't have built a mansion the size of a hotel if he couldnt afford it.

Will the cap even matter in 2 years? Not likely. Once the CBA agrees to a new deal, the cap will increase significantly.

He is one concussion away from ending his career. Invest the money in someone new and make Coles honor his agreement.

I think Coles is just going to hold out because he doesn't want to deal with another Camp Mangini. I think he just wants a break. Im' not worried about it.

I can see that. It worked for Strahan, and I do remember one occassion in the past where Coles said something to the effect of he doesn't know if he can handle another Mangini camp.

    Coles

Now I'm not for paying Coles a lot of money b/c he is damaged goods but give the guy credit, he's a freakin' warrior, end of story.

As long as we keep drafting well and only have a few players making big money we are fine. I would much rather spend the cash on lineman on both sides of the ball.

I called him our best WR, is that not credit enough? No jet fan can seriously deny what LC has done for us, i certainly wouldn't. All I said was, the man bitch's every year. Thats a true statement.

So where exactly are we cap wise?

After the flurry of moves....where exactly are we cap wise? Are we still under the cap and by how much money?

The cap doesn't really worry me. What worries me is how desperate these moves appears. It seems like Tangini are trying to keep their jobs and Woody wants to sell personal seat license, not like we are building a team for the Super Bowl.
