for anyone that thinks getting rid of vilma is a bad is deaadd wrong. he's an amazing player but he doesn't fit in this scheme. so there's not way this deal would come back to "bite us in the ass". i just don't see why a deal didn't happen with carolina so we could get jenkins in return and maybe a late draft pick thrown their way...

Don't be so over the top upset. The trade makes alot of sense. The Jets are probably figuring that Vilma will have a good year in a scheme that best suit his skill set. IF HE HAS A GOOD YEAR...WE WILL HAVE 2ND OR 3RD ROUND PICK..with the chance of getting a 1st rounder if he has a probowl year.

Who cares if it isnt a pick for this year? We need pick in any form. Whether they are 1 year away or 5 years away. Eventually they will be used.

you guys have no idea what the conditions of the trade are. You guys are just assuming that if he does good its a 1,2,3rd rounder.

Here's where I got it from:

It's still a rumor but it seems to make sense, although I could have sworn that Cimini's blog state the Saints' interest in Vilma had cooled off.

We finished last year fine without him. Our D played the same, if not better, after his injury. We are getting what the market dictated for a MLB comming off a major injury who has had two very down seasons in a row.

If you expected more than a 3rd or the type of deal we are getting, you either living in 2005 or vastly over rating what Vilma is worth on an open market.
