Predicting QB classes is a good way to look like a doofus. There are guys actually getting paid millions of dollars by teams to do it and they still fall on their faces about 80% of the time.

that is very true. but, as we found out with namath, and other teams found out with the mannings, big reward requires taking a big risk.

When Chad is starting next year because Mangini has zero faith in Clemens let me know how great a QB Clemens is or how great a HC Mangini is.

I guess people who play a lot of Madden 2006/7 and read all that pansy-assed Fantasy Football candy cotton are hopelessly addicted to flitting feverishly from one posie to the next thistle.

QBs take three to four years to develop normally. We have been watching one of the most painful rites of passage through a throng of impatient, angry, wrathful fans right here in NYC with little old Elijah from Ole Miss. He seems to have weathered this Fantasy Football tempest in a teapot.

I have all the confidence in the world in Chad and Kellen.

Give them an offensive line that is not a sieve. Get the OL to pass block well AND run block well. Then the QB will have real weapons in Thomas and Leon LC and JC and BS and Baker too.

You should have all the confidence after all Chad has been with the team 8 years and has produced 1 win in a row in the playoffs twice with a solid team excellent OL and good weapons several times.

There is a lot more to that 8 years than the offensive line. Chad's injuries and rehab are one thing. There were different regimes, and different offenses --- during that 8 years also went from a 8-inch deep sand lot to field turf.

Sweeping generalizations are not all about the quarterback. Somebody recently said that the big long-time story with the NYJ is they are inconsistent and unstable over time.

The continuity that Eli has had and the continuity that Brady has had has gone missing at the NYJ for a decade at the very least.

Yeah, I think both Chad and Kellen, given these skill players and an OL that pass blocks WELL and run blocks WELL can do it to it.

Do you not understand that there aren't REASONS for things they just HAPPEN?

It's really amazing how much people forget/choose to ignore isn't it? It's like Chad was born a bad QB...it's not that he tore his shoulder to shreds twice or anything.

The Jets had one great QB one SB. Plenty of really good teams with really good personal and B level guys throwing the rock.

Chad hardly looked like a B level guy in 2002.

Plenty of guys look great for 8 games. The guy has had 3/4 of a good season twice and a mediocre season in 06. Lots of reasons, time to move forward.

He also tore his shoulder to shreds twice and no one even thought he'd be throwing a football professionally again after doing it just once...

The guy looked like he was going to be a GREAT QB for the Jets before those injuries. Of course it's time to move on, but it's really weird how some Jets fans treat Chad like he never did a thing for this franchise.

    fullback.

tim tebow is in a gimicky offense. hed get rocked at the pro level. hes better off being a FB and a short yardage specialist.

It's just as amazing to me that people treat Chad like a HOF QB who actually lead this team to a SB.

I never blamed Chad for getting hurt, I don't blame Coles for getting concussions. A rebuilding team has to know when to move on. By the way Namath was physically a dissaster when he lead this team to a SB, he could however throw the ball.

This remark says you shouldn't count on planning, or scheming because the power and destiny of the "luck of the draw" and the "accident of the play" just overwhelms every possible misbebotten plan and strategy and training effort of the team.

Never mind the play book or practice: These guys should just run wind sprints to stay in shape and line up to play when the whistle blows.

It's all up to fate. Chunk those dice!

Well, there's a lot of coaches and players in the NFL that behave otherwise.

I don't happen to agree with your point, in case you didn't notice.

Why do you think Chad was voted Comeback Player of the year after the second shoulder operation and rehab?

Do you still think he can't do it any more?

If so, why do you think that the NYJ CS disagrees with you so completely.

    Now that's an anamoly.
