Pitching wins rings. Mets have a better rotation. Yankees will be lucky to make the playoffs with that rotation.

Not much new in Yankee land this year.

    - Still have a RFer scared of the wall.
    - Still have Mike Mussina in the rotation.
<-------------- Still have Roids at 1st base. Tino Martinez still around?
    - Still have a 20-game winning pitcher every year that collapses in the playoffs.

If anything, Yankees have took a step down.

What did the Mets do? Traded for solid RFer, capable of .280, 20-25 HR, 80-90 RBI and good D. Traded for one of best defensive catchers in the game. To top it off, traded a bunch of junk prospects for the best pitcher in the game.

Mets over Red Sox in 5.

You're right. Maybe you can give $28 million to David Wells or something for half a season to help out that rotation.

David Wells? Good one, real funny. With that offense and a solid rotation, the Yankees will be hard to beat. How can you make fun of the Yankees rotation when yours is not any better? Santana? He is good I will give you that. Martinez? He is okay, but getting older. Maine? He is good too. Perez? He is impressive. Hernandez? He is okay. That is a good rotation never mind.

I predict Hughes, Joba and Kennedy in a 3 way tie for the AL cy young. Each one will win 20 games and the Yankees over the Diamondbacks in 4.

That's all fine, except Joba won't win 20 games out of the bullpen. Yup, I know. It's sad, when you've got a guy like him capable of starting games, but somehow you've chosen to put a 39-year old guy in the rotation instead.

Speaking of sad, your manager. Girardi is much better than him. Even the Dodgers manager could out-coach Randolph.

Talk to me when your manager has actually seen the playoffs since he retired.

Girardi took a horrible Marlins team into playoff contention in 2006. Although they finished 78-84, it was a great season with the lack of players he had. Not to mention he won the NL Manager of the Year in 2006. Now, with the Yankees he will do great and likely win the AL Manager of the Year for 2008.

Sadly, that 2006 Marlins team was probably more talented than the 2008 Yankees.

Yeah right, in your dreams. The Yankees have more talent than any team in baseball. Speaking of sad, your avatar. Do you think that the only team in baseball who used steroids is the Yankees?

If anything, FITM is smoking crack.

Let's see, the team with the best record (I think... or at least, very close to it) in the majors since the ASB last year improved their bench depth, have a full season with the improved defense of Melky in CF, have a better offensive 1B in ANY of their choices (Duncan, Ensberg, Betemit), have more talent AND depth in their rotation, have more talented and numerous options in the bullpen, and get to face a full season with a competent in-game manger.

Yeah, they took a step down, alright.

The Mets stole Santana, yes. Good for them. They'll probably win the NL East. Of course, the local high school baseball team could probably win the NL East. Unless, of course, that team experiences one of the greatest collapses of all time, in which case, I suppose winning the division might act as a soothing balm that might alleviate, but never erase, such humiliation.

So the Yankees have very likely improved their team over last year, in terms of talent... and were one of the very best in baseball. The Mets also improved their team, but they were working to improve a team that lost a seven-game lead with seventeen games to play.

You should be the last person to be talking about collapsing.

It's the first day of pitchers and catchers, and already we're seeing this kind of ridiculous stuff? You people really need to grow up already.

    Dice-K..Sophomore slump?
    Lester
Beckett..Holy shit, did you see his pics..Way fat and out of shape
Bucholtz..well, if you are going to rip the NYY for having faith in the young kids, why not Boston?

Here we go again. Why are you guys so worried about the Yankees? worry about the Phillies, worry about not collapsing again.
