    I'm not much of a betting man, so someone will have to explain this to me. How does it work if the odds are .44? Does that mean you get your bet plus 40% return?
    If that's correct, does odds of 3.00 equal a 400 return if you bet 100?

    yeah.

    example:

    1/2 odds=.5

    Means you bet 2 to win 1.

    2/1 odds=2

    You bet 1 to win 2.


    .44 means you bet 100 to win 44.
