Yeah, we've been saying this for weeks. I think Rob Ryan was resigned to Oakland. But as Rex was overlooked for Ravens HC, It would be very likely he'll want to be out of there. Edit: I just realized I pretty much said exactly what's in the article.

Why wouldn't Woody pay for a Ryan brother? He shelled out the money for Callahan, and as a previous HC and the fact that Tampa wanted him as well, I am sure he did not come cheap.
yeah, because if Rex got a head coaching gig he wouldn't take his brother with him. if one is a one year rental, the other would be as well.
you don't think if he got a head coaching gig he wouldn't hire his brother, an equally well regarded coordinator, as his defensive coordinator? that's ludicrous. if the Jets think that highly of him to be their d coordinator, you can be certain his brother does as well.
