their draft picks, we all know about d.brick and mangold, but in that same draft we get l.washington in the 4th rd. and presumely our future qb clemons in the 2nd rd, then, revis, harris in the 07 draft, thats 6 starters in 2 years [leon on st]

Ok, but if Leon's on SP (does that mean ST, Special Teams?) I'm pretty sure that doesn't count as starting.

But what about Schlegel and Eric Smith in the 3rd round? Were those bad picks?

    Just playing Devils Advocate here.

(Gosh I just realized this sounds terrible considering I'm God.)

Wasn't their thug safety the only one of their 600 picks to make the team as well?

    Mangenbaum is better? :)

They have drafted solidly without a doubt. As long as D'Brick doesnt turn out to be D'Bust.

I dont know if Meriweather is a bust or if Bellichik is just letting him ride the bench and learn cause Eugene Wilson isnt that bad and Roidney Harrison is back

Shlegel blew, but I don't think Smith is terrible. He seems to be around the ball and he is a bit of a hitter. Coleman was soft.

Two very solid drafts, and I can only hope that they can keep the pace.

Might've been a little early for him though. And Coleman wasn't a huge hitter but he complements Rhodes very well, because he's a good coverage safety and Rhodes becomes the big hitter. You can't have two big hitter safety's because one will always be held back.

I remember reading aft t draft that Schlegel was actually Brian Cox's idea. He loved him and asked to daft him. I guess that's why we never here about BC any more.

I'm still confident in both, we'll learn alot more this year. I think they got a little too big last offseason(specifically Mangini) and thought after 1 good year they had everything figured out. they are both still very young in their jobs and have alot of potential. We have drafted well, now we need to do a better job in FA. That doesn't mean go out and overspend like NE did last year(No NE isn't great b/c they overpaid some guys, they are great b/c they had a top team and added a guy like Moss. Thomas has been non-existent and anyone could put up welker's #s w/ the other weapons NE has) but we need to hit on some FAs and we have to upgrade the OL. Our OL in '06 was decent and they downgraded it w/ letting kendall go. We need an instant upgrade on the OL.

    You mean 4/5 vs. 2?

I count: D'Brick, Mangold, Clemens, B. Smith (questionable) and Leon Washington vs. Maroney and Gostkowski (who is only a kicker, although a very good one).

Overall, the past 2 drafts go 6/7 vs. 2.

Tangini has done an outstanding job. They have continued making this team better by identifying needs and quickly addressing them. Last year they found solutions for their running back, cornerback and inside linebacker problems. This year they have already addressed their coaching issue along the offensive line with a brilliant hire. Hopefully they will continue making this team better through the draft.
