Getting to the Playoffs and beating them with a mediocre team where everything has to stack up perfectly every year is Realistic to you? Im giving you the reality of what it takes to win a superbowl not a playoff berth.

What reality? How to you go to the Super Bowl without getting to the playoffs first? What you're saying might be feasible if this were year one of this regime, but it's not, it's year three. This isn't 1977, by year three you need to at least compete for the playoffs. We're not starting from scratch, they did that off the 4-12 from 2005, not now. If you want to make the case that we overacheived in 2006 and underacheived in 2007, fine, but any way you slice it this will be year three. Year three of both QBs in the same offense, year three of this regime getting their guys to play their way. I don't think competing for the playoffs is too much to ask, it doesn't mean we have to then take a step back the next year. You want to progress upward.

We just went 4-12, I'm not willing to settle for a lesser record again in 2008 to gain experience for one guy at any position, whomever it may be. Not when you have another guy on the team who could play better and win more games. I'm sorry if you don't like that guy, that's tough. Most Jet fans want to win as much as possible as soon as possible.

The over achievement of 2006 resulted in the misguided notion that we could draft and handle Free Agency like we were 2-3 players away. 4-12 of 2007 is the reality of our team. This might be the third year but we are at the first year reality of a 2005 4-12 disaster. We should draft and structure the team as if 2006 never happend. If we don't we will be sitting here having the same sorry discussion in 2009-2010. This is the third year in a regime where the players are not suited for the schemes that the cs has. It takes at least two years to gut a team and start to get the players on your page and we lost one with the 2006 team. 8-8 with Clemens on a roll at the end of next year is the biggest upward swing we can take. Unless of course you think the Pats, Colts and Chargers are going someplace and we can have your miracle Sb run if we get hot.

What is a "normal" fan? To me a "normal" fan is one that wants to see his team be WORLD CHAMPIONs not just win a few games here or there. Why not take the 07 C/boys they just went 13-3 in the regular season right? Now where are they with there 13-3 record? Lets take the 07 Colts also with there 13-3 record. Where are they now? How about J/ville they went 11-5 & where are they today? You are arguing that well if CP brings us another win or 2 then he has to be played even though there will be no hope for him in the SB derby even if we made the POs. That is why I said you fit the win a few games & be happy profile to a T!

No, that is not what I'm arguing. You can't read, neither can FOURTH, you're both so jacked up with hatred for Chad Pennington you can't even read straight, even when we're not really discussing him to begin with.

Regardless of who plays, I'd rather have 10 wins than 8 wins, period. Which is the exact opposite of what he wants, which started this whole argument. Why don't you start a poll then and see how many Jet fans would rather have 8 wins than 10, I'd bet not too many sane ones.

See sorry to say you at least IMHO you do not/cannot grasp it. 8 wins means nothing 10 wins means nothing 13 wins means nothing IF you do not win the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP. Just ask Indy/Dallas & J/ville fans . No poll is necessary because I surely know the silly mentality that exists on this board proven by your post because all of you that fit my profile cannot see the trees from the forest or the forest from the trees.

Take a look at the replay of Jerry Jones on the Sideline after the Giants beat Dallas and you tell me if he is happy with 13-3? The saving grace for them is they have the talent to be in the mix the next few years. I think your under the misguided notion that we think if Chad is cut from the roster we will miraculously turn it around. This thing is going to take years with our without him. No quick fix will put you back in the super bowl hunt! You want 10-6 with a mediocre team with no shot at the superbowl. We would rather take a step back for a few years and build a team from the bottom up that can actually win a Super bowl in a few years? I will take a step back to take a step forward. Your ten wins last year set us back a year or two because it messed up our draft and Free agent signings last year because we tried to take a mediocre bunch and turn them into a champion instead of drafting like we were middle of the bunch. The difference between me, champ and you is we are not pleased with Mediocraty!

You guys are aware of the fact that more wins in the regular season sets you up better in the post season, right? Of course you have to win in the post-season, but you have to get there first and the more wins you have the better position you're in when you get there. But by your logic, Cincinnati had a better season than Dallas.

Actually Dallas, Cinncy, Indy, J/ville just to name a few all are EXACTLY the same as us a non appearing SB teams this year. What can you not grasp that concept?

By your logic we will always go in the post season as a wild card because you have stated on numerous occasions that Ne will always win our division. According to your logic we will have a first week playoff game away from home each year and if we manage to luck into a win once we get our mediocre team that comes in the playoffs on a roll we will have to go into Ne, Indy, Sd or Jacksonville for the second round. We can win as much as we want in the regular season it is all moot since we will be going in as a wildcard. I think you miss the concept of Dallas being a team that set the bar where is should be which is the Sb or bust and another team like CLeveland who did not make it but should be happy with their team going forward because they are on the upward swing of progress. You have us lumped in with Washington and Tampa with mediocre teams that made it for a one and done out and nothing to show that it will be anything better next year.

champ, do you honestly think you're the only one who understands the ultimate goal is to win the Super Bowl? Do you not get that you just don't wake up there, you have to have a winning season and go to the playoffs first?

We're getting nowhere. That's not what I'm saying, that's what you're getting from it. Once again, you can't read. You're stupid. You're a retard. Forget it. Enjoy hoping for us to have a worse season just so the guy you hate won't be in there, thankfully reality does not conform with the handful of idiots like you on this board.

Reality conformed nicely to all of our posts about Cp and us being an overrated team before this season started now didn't it? How did my prediction for 6-10 before the season turn out? We were worse than I thought! If we are such idiotts then why are we sitting here a year later talking about rebuilding as opposed to the Sb Run that you predicted. Who's reality ended up being the real reality after this season? If we don't know what we are talking about then why are we having this conversation six months later? Explain that genius!

Speaking just for myself, I'll take the 13 wins and 12 pro bowlers, as that gives us the best chance at WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP.

I mean seriously, champ, what did you do, start rooting for the '68 Jets AFTER the SB III? B/c up until the final gun, they were the same as everyone else: NOT WORLD CHAMPIONS.

    Sheesh. why did I bother?

We would all take what you just suggested because that would mean we have a shot at the Sb! The problem is we have 4 wins, No pro bowlers and people are crying like we should be there next year! The great teams do not get there over night! I would be happy with one superstar on this team!

Someone should have told the Giants to not show up for the playoffs then. They are a perfect example of a team that no one has given a chance to in each game so far in the playoffs and have won both games. They are one game away from reaching the Super Bowl. A team that turns it on at the end of the season has a really good chance of advancing to the playoffs and pulling off an upset. Getting there is the tricky part.

No you wouldn't, because you wouldn't be able to complain about them in every post. Even if Chad leaves, you'll be on here complaining in every post about your new whipping boy, whoever that may be.
