Maybe if Cam Cameron were to become our OC, it would entice Houck to follow him. Hmm...

Schottenheimer to Interview for Ravens Job

Live in the DC/Baltimore area. Was just listening to the Baltimore sports talk station and they said Schotty is supposd to interview for the Raven HC job.

Sorry, didn't see this. did a search and it didn't come out.

Schotty is not at or near the top of the list in Baltimore. The only way he'd leave now is if his Dad gets a HC gig and he asks Mangini out of his deal to be AHC/OC for his Dad with the option of replacing him down the road.

    1. We could just bring him in, he doesn't have a job.

    2. It's easy to look good with Randy Moss, Chris Carter, and whoever else was on those Vikings O's he coached. He's shown years of incompetence since.

At this point, I could care less whether we keep him or not.

If he goes, and Sutton is canned, and with Westhoff leaving, the Jets will have to find three new co-ords. That will be a tall order.

Schottenheimer is the easisest to replace.

    Westhoff cannot be replaced.

If Schotty does leave I hope it won't keep them from getting rid of Sutton... I think the defense needs some help on the CS side.

Agreed. Schotts probably could use a change in scenery anyway. His system really hasn't produced much here in NY so a fresh start might be good for him.

Westhoff? How do you replace a "legend"????

With 3 coaches gone, Jetcane is absolutely right. Mangini will find himself in the position of replacing 3 crucial elements of his staff in only his 3rd year as HC. Not an enviable position to be in at all..

How can the Schottenheimers be reunited... unless Brian is HC and Marty is coordinator?? Doesn't make sense...

Westhoff will be impossible to replace. He is the best that's ever done it. If assistants could make the hall of fame he would be a first ballot entry.

No coordinator is easy to replace when your coach just went 4 – 12 and there is any perception of him being on thin ice.

Schott is not getting the job -- let's be real fellas. You think hiring Schott Jr. is going to satsify the Baltimore faithfull. I could see Marty getting the job and trying to hire his son as OC, but that's a lateral move the Jets could deny and probably would.

I don't think Schott is responsible for the piss poor play of the line given that he doesn't make the talent decisions. He had a better offense last year when he had a healthy LC, Cotchery and a line that included Kendall. I'm not giving up on Schott just yet.

And if Schott does leave miraculously, Daboll is our OC.

    QFT.

Got to love a fanbase that will complain about stability, then turn and call for the coaches head. This coaching staff is young and they've shown excellent knowledge at times. 2006 would NEVER have happened without this coaching staff. One bad year it's time to quit while whining about stability?

I want to give this coaching staff at least one more season.
