Putting the Ryan rumors on the backburner for now, why is Bob Sutton still here? He is the Jets version of dead man walking right now. His job was all but eliminated after Mangini took over the defense after the Jets bye. Keeping him on the staff only adds to what was a terrible 2007. It's time for Mangini to move on and give us some hope that he's working to turn things around for the Jets in 2008 and get rid of Sutton and for that matter both Wise the OL coach and Quinn the DL coach and get some new blood in here.

He's still in his office trying to figure out a defensive game plan for week 5. Once he comes out he'll be fired immediately.

He's still here because Mangini has no clue.

The man obviously doesn't know how to fix this team fast enough to please us. Things like that usually means he has no clue what he's doing.

I dont think they'll get rid of Sutton until a replacement is found first.

They won't get rid of sutton until a replacement is found because if they have no DC they have less negotiating power. If the have a DC they seem less desperate.

I agree. To fire a coach without having somebody in the wings waiting to step right in is insane. Our Coach might be a lot of things but being Insane is not one of them.

This is exactly the reason why Sutton still has his job. The Jets are not going to fire him unless they have someone in line to replace him.

He's the one who taught Brad Smith and Leon Washington how to drop easy catches.
