I hate to throw out random trade speculation in a League that doesnt make trades but what do you all think ??

Vilma To Cinci in efforts to improve their D

Johnson To NYJ as a # 1 WR

David Harris seems to be able to hold the position in this system better than Vilma and TJ HOUSH had a better year than 85

i think you're going to hear that there's no way this could happen from a lot of people, but i wouldn't rule it out...both players seem to need to go in another direction, and it would not really be that bad of a trade for either team

On the post game show Adam Shein said he spoke to Chad Johnson this week and got the impression he will not be in Cinncinati next year because they think he is part of the problem there. Schein said he wouldn't be suprised to see Chad on another team and mentioned Vilma could be trade bait.

Vilma for CJ would be a great trade. CJ, Coles, Cotchery might be the best combination of receivers in the league

I don't know why Cincy would think he's the problem. Guy plays his rearend off every game and although he talks a lot he has no problems off the field.

Yeah he only drops every other pass and beat women when he was in college. He's a stand up guy.

i'd take CJ for Vilma in a heartbeat.

however, i think we'd have to give up more than just Vilma. perhaps a draft pick?

if only we could lure Cincy into taking McCareins...

If the new coach is a true discipline coach, then Chad Johnson wont be fitting in and if Marvin stays, then they have Houz and Chris Henry as well as a 1-2 punch so Chad can be dealt.

no way that trade will happen. Cinci is gonna try and milk everything the jets have for CJ and its not gonna work. The jets will NOT trade vilma this offseason. Write it down, that is a god damn guarantee.

If you think Chad wouldn't fit in with a discipline coach, I don't know how anyone could expect Chris Henry to fit in either.

Fair enough, but if that's the case you can't memtnion that the duo of Housh/Chris Henry make Chad expendable.

It wouldn't shock me if they listened to offers on Chad Johnson, but I still think it's less than 50/50 that they move him. I also don't see how they can afford to ship both him and Chris Henry out of town, regardless of their behavior issues.

I mean if Marvin Lewis were to get another year though, then he can use Houz and Henry as his 1 and 2 because I am guessing Chad's TD Celebrations and the penalty yards from it have pushed Lewis' breaking point.

Usually I laugh at the trade speculation.. but this one has MERIT.

I don't know if it would take as much as Vilma to get it done, but Vilma doesn't have much left on his contract, so the cap hit wouldn't be killer. I think NE showed this year you can take a crazy malcontent WR (Chad Johnson isn't nearly as bad as Moss) and with the right coaching make him incredible again.

For the reasons you mentioned (Chad vs. Moss), I think the price is going to be a lot higher than you're expecting. Chad isn't anywhere near the malcontent that Moss/TO are and unlike Moss a year ago, there isn't any issues about production.

I could see Chad Johnson being available, but the cost IMO is likely a lot closer to Keyshawn Johnson level (pair of 1st) than it is to what Owens or Moss got in trades. With Vilma's knee issues, I can't see the Bengals considering Vilma for Johnson straight up.

Bigtime receivers have gotten progressively less through the years. Look at what TO got, what Moss got, and even what Darrell Jackson got. Chad dropped a lot of passes this year when I saw him, and he has a big reputation as a "me" guy, much more than Key did.

That being said, I would be the first one to buy a Chad Johnson jersey if we traded Vilma for him. That makes a lot of sense for both teams if in fact Vilma is healthy.
