-Revis improving CB play. -Harris being a force -Rhodes steady play. -Clemens looks like he can be the QB. -No major injuries. -Mangolds' solid play. -Washingtons' big play ability.
-cotchery's stellar year and showing his reliability as a receiver - baker starting to become more involved in the offense
- Chris Baker getting a Contract Extension and him getting more involved in the offense. - David Harris - Darelle Revis improving CB Play - Kerry Rhodes - Cotchery once again showing he is the top Jets receiver (next/along with Coles) - No major injuries (other than Vilma, but some will argue that it wasn't such a bad thing that he was injured)
The play of our secondary has without a doubt been a bright spot, as well as what our receivers can do once the ball is in their hands. We've just had problems (McCareins, Smith, Washington) with people thinking about those moves they're about to do before they get the ball, resulting in drops. Focus issues, I would think. Kellen Clemens has also shown that he can make things happen when given protection. Any time you have opposing offenses having a LB as either a spy or a hook zone specifically to watch your QB due to scrambling ability, it is a huge advantage. We've also had Leon's kick returning ability shown (You can't just say it's Westhoff, though I love the guy. Look at Brad Smith's returns.), which when coupled with Miller's return next season, will be very scary for opposing teams. You'll see a lot of high, short kickoffs with a lot of starts at the 35 without a return.
Darrelle Revis playing great cornerback David Harris is a absolute wilderbeast Kerry Rhodes is one of the best Safety's in football Leon is a Quick play making RB Mangold is tough as nails at Center Chris Baker is starting to come on as a good solid Tight End Our Secondary mainly due to Revis and Rhodes is ranked 9th in the NFL
As a fan of that team from the NorthEast, and have watched all the Jets game.. That Harris kid is a beast.. I wanted my favorite team to draft him, but we know it didn't work out.. He'll be solid for years to come..
Good list.....Mangold and Washington were a given, we knew that last year and didn't expect a drop off. Revis and Harris.......no question, future stars. Your Quote...."Clemens looks like he can be the QB".............IMO, the Jury is still out on that one.....he gets an incomplete, and still has to prove himself.
funny the names listed in the 1st post are all the "younger guys" the club really should build around. IF they can accumulate similar talent in the next 2 offseasons, than we have something..... BUT - we still need pro bowl level studs at the key positions - namely OLB, CB, RB and/or WR, and OL. jil
Our secondary the past 6 games. The Steelers victory. The fact that we only got our asses kicked twice. D'Brick's 6 or so game stretch that included shutting out Jason Taylor, Terrell Suggs, Osi U., Aaron Schobel, and Geathers/Smith. Harris and Revis of course. D'Brick manhandling the sh*t out of Jason Taylor in that first meeting. Leon Washington. The badassedness of Nick Mangold. But we shouldn't talk about the positive things. We should be contending for a SB, and since we're not we should fire everyone.
the fact that we know we need a new QB cause Kellen is going to be a great back up but def not a starter in this league
Harris Rhodes Revis Baker Cotchery Washington Kenyon Coleman Dissappointments(Most to Least): Andre Dyson, Bryan Thomas, Eric Smith (sp?), Anthony Clement (I came back to reality that he wasn't that good watching hm get railroaded last weekend), Justin McCareins, Kellen Clemens
I’d say the biggest bright spot is that the season is over this week. The other bright spot for me was I found a new Jets bar in Tampa to watch the games; $10 all you can drink…this was a good season for it.
