Most likely wont happen, but I created a scenario: St. Louis Rams get: QB Chad Pennington ILB Jonathan Vilma G Brandon Moore Jets 4th Round Pick New York Jets get: OT Brandon Gorin Rams 1st Round pick Rams 5th Round pick It's a pretty good deal...Pennington is better then any QB the Rams have, Vilma still has some stuff, and Moore is trash but better then nothing... How do you like it?
Marc Bulger is a much better QB than Chad. I'd take Bulger for Chad and Vilma right now if we got the opportunity.
Bulger has been sacked more times then Chad, has more fumbles, and has a 58.9% completion, how is that better then Pennington. Chad is bad, but I would rather have Pennington much more then Bulger.
first of all, no one gives a shit what you've put together in your Madden franchise mode. Second, Bulger is a pro-bowl QB who has shown that he can lead a high-powered, big-play offense and is highly accurate. Pennington is a shell of his former self and can only start on a rebuilding team looking for a short-term mentor for a younger player.
Well, to start off, Bulger is a much better than QB than Pennington ever was or will be. Why on earth would St. Louis want Chad Pennington playing QB over Bulger? Also, Brandon Gorin is a journeyman lineman that was cut by Arizona and is not nearly an upgrade over Brandon Moore. So honestly, this isn't a good trade and doesn't make much sense, even in Madden.
your an f'n idiot. If this happens you have my word i will send you $200 cash in the mail. wow your posting priveleges should be taken away.
I prefer the Ben Grahm to NE for Brady and their 1st round pic trade but I doubt Tani will go for it.
Completion percentage is a bullshit stat. I absolutely despise this stat and wish they would stop printing it all together. People think a high completion percentage means you're getting the job done at QB. You can take your high completion percentage all you want, give me TD passes and TD scoring drives. As for the sacks, that's generally attributed to the o-line, but it definitely could be the QB too. I'd rather have a guy that's willing to sit in the pocket longer and take more sacks though if it means he's going to throw more TD passes. Anyway, if you've objectively watched both QB's play over the last few seasons I think you'd be able to recognize that Bulger is the better QB. Maybe you just haven't seen much of him.
Completion percentage should be valued based on where the pass is completed. A pass completed behind the line of scrimmage absolutely should not be weighted the same as a pass completed 30 yards down the field. One of the throws is a simple lob that any of us could complete and the other is a strike that requires pinpoint timing, accuracy and control. There's a strong argument for removing completion percentage from the QB rating and going just with Yards Per Attempt, Touchdown Percentage and Interception Percentage. I'd throw in a composite of the passing stats in those 3 categories on 2nd down and 8 or longer and 3rd down and 5 or longer as the 4th component, since that tells you how a QB throws when he has to throw. The resulting number should also scale among all the league's QB's. That way changes in the game would not produce huge changes in the ratings.
If they throw in moss,i think its a decent deal. im not sure, but i think its an unlikely deal. thoughts?
by looking at the trade it seems the Rams are still getting the better end of the deal, also the Rams just gave Bulger an extension. Just go back to your fantasty team in Madden 08 im sure youll probably try and trade Penny to the pats as well.
