I completely agree.. he obviously isn't playing well, but some people need to chill out with their criticisms. He's practically a rookie and he's playing behind the worst oline in the league. He's going to make mistakes.. only time will tell if he can adjust and learn not to throw crappy passes all the time. If our FO makes the right moves this offseason we'll know we have in him sometime early next year.

You do realize he gets sacked that many times because he holds onto the ball too long because he has a hard time on presnap reads. Hopefully he can correct that, but I have not seen much improvement.

Chad got sacked at least twice...if not 4 times.

It ain't the QB's guys...we need to improve our offensive line before we evaluate these guys.

    Original Post is moronic.

Clemens will be a good QB, how can anyone say anything about this kid? The line is swiss cheese and we have NO run GAME! WTF?

So a QB is supposed to throw a hard out with a monstrous Seymore about to hit him square on with a head of steam; he is supposed to drill the ball right in there. I would defy any HOF QB to be able to make that throw under similar conditions.

Yeah no kidding...at one point TJ had 7 carries for 9 yards! Geez! Clemens should have had 4 TD passes with that kind of production from the run game!

The bashing towards Kellen Clemens is juvenile and retarded.

So did the running game and Oline perform for Chad? If not why doesn't he get the benefit of the doubt Clemens does?

24 sacks in 6 GAMES! That's unbelievable. The only thing I see that has changed since Baltimore/Washington is that he got a little happy feet, and he gets nervous in the pocket earlier but it's no wonder, maybe something about getting his ribs cracked or his shoulder dislocated just doesnt appeal to him?

Chad Pennington ALWAYS got the benefit of the doubt from alot of posters on this website. Chad is a warrior and a decent QB, but everyone knew his time as starting QB was up and we needed to see what KC had.

"It isn't personal Sonny, it's strictly business."

He never threw the ball on his third step. He made his 3 step drop, and hopped twice before the throw. This goes back to his presnap read. He has to learn where to go with the ball off his presnap reads. This is why he threw the pick.

Pre-snap reads are often thrown out the window a bit when you have a line as porous as ours.

For all we know KC may have been trying to throw the ball nearly out of bounds on the play.

    Chad --> 20 sacks in 8 games.

Did it ever occur that it's not only the O-line, but that KC just sits back there like an idiot and takes sacks.

There should be no double standard. Clemens shoudn't get the benefit of the doubt. Chad beat Miami. Clemens beat Miami. The defense and TJ beat the Steelers.

Rocket arm couldn't get the ball out of bounds eh? That was a weak attempt if he was going for the sidelines. The ball was out before Seymour touched him. Hopefully he learns from his mistake.

Chad does get rid of the ball much faster than KC, no question. So of course he takes fewer sacks. But when half of your passes go for 5 yards or less, you're not really getting anywhere. I hope we haven't lost sight of that already. If you want a downfield passing game, you have to block longer than 1.5 seconds.

Or you could just leave Chad in, dink and dunk straight to hell, and be happy because the line is giving up fewer sacks. KC isn't just sitting "back there like an idiot" and taking sacks, its called throwing for more than 10yds per completion, something we have to get used to if we ever hope to compete. We have the guy with the arm to make the throws finally, now we have to get some people to block for him.

Chad actually was sacked 5 times, and he is the best in the league at checking down and getting a completion instead of a sack or an incompletion (even if it means a 3 yard play on 3rd and 50).... Although Clemens does have an issue with pocket awareness, putting the ridiculous amount of sacks on him is unreasonable

Chad averages 7 YPA while Kellen averages 6.6. Clemens averages 2 more yards per completions. So 1.5 seconds to get 10 versus more than 1.5 seconds to get 12 but to probably be sacked once every 2 or 3 drives.
