J-Mac, effin' Mike Nugent + Jon McGraw ---- Great great wastes of 2nd round draft picks in the last 6yrs.

    3rd round beauties;
    BJ Askew
    Derrick Strait
    Anthony Schlegel
    Eric Smith

What is scary about this list of 7 losers is that 4 of them are not on the team and barely playing currently in the NFL at all.

2nd & 3rd rounds are 1st day MUST HIT draft picks if you want to be a playoff team year after year.

My brother,......he misses critical field goals all the time. He missed a 35 yarder yesterday. For a 2nd round draft pick (another Bradway lemon) this guy is garbage.

There are guys in the league like Nick Folk (Dallas) & Crosby (GB) ---- these guys were 6th and 7th round draft picks!!!!!

You are way too hard on Nugent. I think he hit 13 in a row just before that miss. Even if he made it; we still either had to recover an on-sides kick and score a TD or stop the Pats offense after the kickoff; then go for probably 75 plus yards for the game tying TD. Do you honestly think we had decent odds at accomplishing that given our offensive line play?

The very reliable Hanson also had a kick blocked yesterday , nothing wrong with the snap , even very good players have bad days.

I might be putting this post in the wrong forum & starting an anti-Mike Nugent thread.

What I really meant to say was that the Mike Nugent 2nd round draft pick selection was almost as bad as giving away a 2nd round pick for J-MacSucks. I remember the day it happened & was totally against picking a kicker in the 2nd round. The guy steps on the field for what? 5 or 6 plays per game?? With so many other positions that are on the field for 40-50 snaps per game, I ask you --- is it smart to use a 2nd round pick on a guy that walks on the field 5,6, 7 plays per game?? Granted - those plays could be critical game deciding plays. Granted - the kid was the best kicker to come out of college in decades. I'm just against taking a kicker that high -- period.

Go through every kicker on every NFL roster -- these guys were walkons & 6th/7th round draft pickups. And they are doing just fine. I would loved to have used that pick on an OL or DL back then. I felt that way in April of 2005, it wasnt MMQB.

I hear you, but how is the kicker responsible when the kick is blocked? Nugent missed his. Hanson's was blocked.

Come on Gus, you're better than this - you know our American cousins like to spell things differently.

    It's KEVEN.

OK, this one I buy. A 2nd round pick for a kicker is ludicris and is wasteful. I think Nugent probably would have been available in the 3rd round.

JMac as a second rounder has been a horrible disappointment. The guy can't catch, he has only average speed, and what is even for me the most evident, is he doesn't fight to make his QB look good. If JMac had Coles' demeanor his value would go up a lot.

I have to give you credit, gus, you remain consistent in your defense of Justin McCarein's oft-perceived 'potential'. Unfortunately, Justin McCareins is such a POS in the clutch that he will never, ever achieve any of his potential. He lacks the testicular fortitude and apparently the portion of the brain the provides concentration enough to reach that VERITABLE GOLDMINE OF POTENTIAL. He blows, man. I can't believe you still don't see this.

What I want to know is: Does J-Mac even care that he sucks? Does he sit around for hours after a game like yesterday with his head in his hands repeatedly wondering "How? How could I bobble that ball, perfectly thrown, to blow the game?"

Or does he pin the blame on someone else?

Or does he just not give a fuck?

I have to know. He's just so damn pathetic!

It is really ridiculous and it looks badly on Mangini. He needs to cut him tomorrow just to make a point that this sort of play unacceptable. He is a cancer, cut him now.

Exactly. Send a Sicilian message. Parcells would cut the guy and he's not even Italian.

He'll be gone and hopefully Stuckey will be able to fill a role in the WR department for us next season.

They interviewed him on SNY on the post game and he didn't really seem that upset. He was kind of soft-spoken and wanted people to leave him alone. Kind of seems like he's not all there

No just for a few seconds, then he drops it.

Lets not forget that punt he almost downed inside the five, except . . . . it went through his hands.

My thoughts exactly. Trade for some O-Line depth.

Well, I would like to see what Stuckey can do, but I think the main reason he fell so far in the draft is the same reason he is on IR.
