This is going to be fun. They say all 30 teams will be affected by it. Can't wait to see the names on this list. Let the speculating begin. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3145958
Eric Gagne for the Sox and the entire Yankee organization. j/k but that would be hilarious since Mitchell works for the Red Sox.
I sure can't wait to find out just how fake this sport is, has been for the last 15 years, and in all likelihood will remain for the foreseeable future!
I'd bet alot of nobodies will be on the list. As a Met fan I was hoping that Schoensuck would have been suspended that would have been one of the best offseson moves to happen for them unfortunatley no suspension
I think theres gonna be alot of stars on the list..a lot of very notable guys.....and I dont give two asshairs....Ill still watch and Ill still go to my couple games a year and eat my crackerjacks.....
Rumors are there are 70 names on the list of past and present players. That's a lot and supposedly there are only names of those where they have some sort of proof and not just suspicion.
I'm more in this camp these days. At this point, I just them all to STFU and just let the guys play frigging baseball.
I disagree. I think anything that helps expose steroid use is good for the game and the players in the long run. Aside from the "unfair" aspect of it, I think steroids are unhealthy, and that alone is good enough reason to stop it, if you can. My guess...at the top of my list would be Giambi, Pujols, and Clemens.
Giambi? He has already admitted it and is the only player who has spoken with them. That would be rather anticlimatical. I really doubt Clemens will be there. He works too damn hard to take steroids. He doesn't need them. Pujols, maybe.
The best part about the list being so huge is that nobody's going to be able to trash talk about it because their own team will have their own cheats.
No way... cheating is cheating... and we're talking about our national past time... Steroids are showing up more and more in high school level sports... I'm all for this
I know, I know. As I've said before, my son loves baseball, and wants nothing more than to be in the majors someday. Of course I'm concerned about this. I'm just getting tired of this dragging it out. To begin with, this report could have come out 6 months ago, just like an idictment, and prevented the most coveted record in sports from being ruined. Also, I'm sick of the hypocrisy. We all know the owners and even the league encouraged the use of steroids, just like wrestling. Suddenly, when they get busted, it's all "well we didn't know!" Come on. Let's also keep in mind that these 70 people are just the ones they have conclusive evidence on. It's by no means a comprehensive list. I'm curious to see who is on that list. To begin with, we have a guy with strong ties to the Red Sox organization. Will Papi be on that list? I mean, he did admit to taking something in DR, but didn't know what it was. Umm, Barroid? How many Yankee names will be on the list? Anyway, something had better get done as a result of this. It's wasting an awful lot of time and money for it to be one big witch hunt.
One of the two individuals familiar with report said baseball officials, upon reviewing it Tuesday, felt it was harsh. The other individual said the union was aware of at least portions of the report, and was upset by what it had seen. Pretty much all of the names came from Radmonski. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/12/12/sports/baseball/12mitchell.html?_r=1&ref=baseball&oref=slogin
at least our 2007 WS won't be tainted. Can't say the same about the Yankees' recent championships though
