Less than the Yankee offer? Who is impressed by the Yankee offer, except Yankee fans? The Twins front office was certainly not. Be fair, outside of Yankee fans, Hughes and Cabrera is hardly worth getting excited over. Do you really think more than 10% of Minn. Twins fans have even heard of Phil Hughes, and you think there would be a total fan boycott? Don, that is really laughable.
Links please. I'm on all the sites. This is ESPN's most up to date blog. Do you see it here? Am I missing it? http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/blog/index?entryID=3132311&name=winter_meetings
haha..everybody in baseball says the Yankee offer is the best offer currently out there. Don't believe it? Wait and see what happens if they don't take it and settle for less.
You are changing your argument. You said there would be a total boycott of Twins fans. Which is ludicrous.
phil hughes was the #1 pitching prospect coming into this year, yeah i think people have heard of him.
That's certainly debatable because I haven't heard anybody say that. Maybe mnost NY baseball people say that because you don't know what the Sox Ellsbury offer is. Certainly a Ellsbury/Bucholz/? offer would be just as good as a Hughes/Melky/? offer.
they sox have said they wont offer lester/ellsbury, so they definatley havent offered bucholz/ellsbury. i heard it was Ellsbury, Masterson, Lowrie, and Bowden.
It must be true. Didn't Hank Steinbrenner say so this morning? Or is that just like Hank saying they won't negotiate with A-rod if he opts out?
Here is the thing, nobody knows what has been offered other than the Yankees, Twins and Red Sox. People can speculate but until the trade happens you don't know who the players involed or what combination of players have been offered.
yeah. I am sure Twins fans will be really upset if they don't get him in a trade for Santana...
Yeah, I shouldn't have used the word total. There will be a boycott however and how did I change my argument?
They know what it isn't and it isn't Ellsbury and Lester or Ellsbury and Buchholz. That's all they need to know to know that the Yankee offer is better. Shouldn't be hard to find if you search for it. What it is currently is Ellsbury OR Lester and scrubs.
Don't be so usre of that, do you honestly believe that the Yankees and Red Sox are giving out this info? The Twins could be saying what they want to drive the price higher.
haha..how could that possibly drive it higher by saying Boston is offering less then they actually are?
yeah well all we have to go by are the rumors and the rumors say that bucholz has never been offered, and when they put ellsbury in the deal that took lester out of the possible players being offered.
Except the Yankees who have been very public about exactly what they have offered. There is no need for rumors.
I know 2 Sox fans that have told me they offered Bucholz and Ellsbury maybe in a package or maybe in seperate packages.
haha.. "The Boston Red Sox won't give the Minnesota Twins a deadline to accept their offer for left-handed ace Johan Santana, declining on Monday to match the ultimatum issued a day earlier by Yankees scion Hank Steinbrenner." http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3140420
If they offered them together the deal would have already been made. So either they are wrong or it is in separate deals.
