Hawaii going to a BCS Bowl!!!! Fuck yeah..... my favorite team as a kid (ala Rich Miano ironically a DB's coach with the Warriors) Yeah a guy on his unit making the big play to get them in. Now the big question, what does this do to the BCS standings. I wish the voters had backbones and vote Hawaii #1. I'd love to see that spread offense pick apart the Buckeyes and end the BCS for good. It wasn't a choke job...Hawaii was the better team. If anyone choked it would've been Hawaii if they lost. Hawaii was a two touchdown favorite, and Washington outplayed them for most of the game, but that offense started to heat up in the second half. Colt Brennan had a flawless performance. The Warriors offense is almost impossible to stop -- it's 75% improv. The wideouts choose a route based on how the coverage looks.
To think the MWC wanted to add Boise, Hawaii and Fresno but didn't because BYU wants to reign supreme. They'd be a BCS conference if they would have done that 3 years ago. Imagine this super mid major conference Utah BYU Hawaii SDSU Fresno Boise TCU New Mexico Colorado State Air Force Wyoming UNLV 2 Divisions Mountain BYU Utah New Mexico Air Force Colorado State TCU West UNLV SDSU Fresno Wyoming Hawaii Boise Conference Title Game here in Vegas. Just makes you hate BYU even more. Just shows hoe stupid Craig Thompson is. He says he wants the MWC to be a BCS conference yet he fails to add legit BCS schools like Boise, Hawaii and Fresno. It's no surprise the WAC has surpassed the MWC in terms of better West Coast Mid Major football.
There will be a conference change up out west sometime in the near future -- there's too much talent in the WAC and MWC to keep those teams locked up in mid-major conferences. The recruiting by Boise, Hawaii, and Fresno has been AMAZING, for mid-major teams, so far this season...Fresno State's first commit is a 3 star QB that ran a 4.38 40 time THREE times at a CA Nike Summer Camp: Watch out Ebahn Feathers next season, he's going to be making things happen on the West Coast as a True freshman. Look for Fresno State to continue the WAC's BCS hopes next season. Pat Hill has been screaming 2008 for 3 years now. We have so much young talent, and Tom Brandstater has finally come along and developed into a "Fresno" QB. I'm glad that WAC is finally getting the hype that it deserves. I know for a fact that the WAC has some of the fastest players in all of college football. The players might not be the biggest, but Boise, Fresno, and Hawaii can hang with ANYONE.
I love the WAC, garnted Idaho and Utah State suck but Boise, Fresno and Hawaii along with BYU and TCU traditionally can beat anybody on a given Satuady afternoon.
Talk about screwed, a buddy who has knowledge of the situation told me that because the Fiesta Bowl who could have taken Arizona State took West Virginia the fans of college football got screwed out Boise State and BYU in the Las Vegas Bowl. Instead we're stuck with a boring rematch between BYU and UCLA who likely will have a lame duck coach. Oh well at least both schools have good looking cheerleaders.
