^^If Hawaii loses and they are about to go down 28-7, there is no way the Rose Bowl would lost the opportunity to finally get the traditional Big 10/Pac-10 matchup that it has been looking for years now. And with Tennessee losing Illinois is guaranteed to be eligible for the BCS bid

Arizona State is going to go to the Fiesta Bowl and play Oklahoma. That will sell alot of tickets and would be a fantastic matchup. Kansas I think will get the nod regardless of what Hawaii does.

Kansas is in the BCS. They aren't dropping out.

Are you saying BCS or a specific bowl? Because Kansas is most likely going to end up in the top 5 final standings.

Remember Texas vs Michigan? They skipped a one loss Cal team that year to take Texas. They don't care about tradition it's about $$$

Not the title game, a specific bowl. Even if they end up in the top 5 they can be skipped. Just look at Cal a few years ago. They took Texas and Vince Young over a top 5 BCS Cal team.

who else are you going to put in instead of Illinois? Tradition is just one important thing, with tradition comes money, it is a no brainer comparing Texas to Cal, but there isn't that must take team this year.

IF Hawaii comes back to win they'll play in the Sugar Bowl and Kansas will go to the Rose Bowl.

There is no chance in hell that Kansas goes to the Rose Bowl, they have the 1st pick from the at large teams. And I am saying if Hawaii loses since it is unlikely that Illinois will get picked over ASU although it could happen

Kansas will bring in more people than Illinios... the Rose Bowl doesn't care about tradition like they say. If they aren't gonna get Ohio State vs USC they're taking the team that will bring in the most $$$ and it's Kansas not Illinios.

I doubt that Kansas will travel as good as Illinois, a good thing about tradition is usually that you can count on the team traveling well there, both areas will be hungry to go to a BCS bowl so I'd think that tradition will put Illinois over the top.

I have a hard time getting up for a Kansas game. They were dispatched by Missouri, a team which lost to Oklahoma, again. But I guess it's slim pickens fot at-large candidates after Georgia (Rose Bowl, I predict)

They can't take ASU to play USC in the Rose Bowl. Arizona State is going to play in the Fiesta Bowl against Oklahoma, that's about as big of a lock as you can get. Other than that I have no idea.

BTW Hawaii is going to come back and win this game.... they are starting to roll.

I edited my post it slipped my mind that ASU and USC was in the same conference, but then again it also heavily depends on who plays for the NC.

I have no idea who that should be or who it's going to be. Honestly there are strong cases for every team including West Virginia who lost both games only when Pat White was injured. There are also strong cases against everybody as well but certainly teams like Ohio State benefit by both being in a weak conference with lots of tradition and by not playing in a conference with a championship game.

If you ask me who the 2 best teams are I'll tell you a healthy USC and LSU (who lost 2 games in triple OT) and won the championship in the conference which I believe to be the best. YOu can argie all you want about how many yards they gave up but the bottom line is they lost 2 games both in 3OT. I just don't see how that should be held against them when there is chaos about who should be in the title game.

If you go by the Sagarin ratings the title game would be Kansas and Ohio State although Kanas SOS is 90 and OSU is 56. Florida who will now rate 3rd has a 5 SOS. This year more than ever there will be an outcry for a playoff because no matter what more than one team is going to get screwed out of playing for a title. Can you imagine the outcry from Baton Rouge if Georgia beats Ohio State in the title game without even winning the SEC East?

college football sucks to the extent there is no playoff. until this happens, and i doubt the bowl money makers will ever let it happen, the method of finding our champion is stupid.

Hawaii runs the table...the WAC is on fire.

Two years in a row with a undefeated team from the WAC crashing the BCS party!
